In my room and bathroom, I appreciated the cleanliness. The location was also great. I also enjoyed the option of using the billiards, darts, and other amenities downstairs at the hotel.

Amazing and spacious room, and I was surprised to find a very comfortable bathtub! There's a lot of character in the room's furnishings and the bed is lush. Staff is very friendly, and breakfast tasted delicious! The city centre and local park are both within walking distance.

Our weekend at Hintlesham Hall was perfect. It's beautiful, the welcome and staff were exceptional from start to finish. We booked in for dinner too and are so glad we did because it was delicious and memorable in a room with wow factor. I can't recommend it enough.

We were in Ipswich to watch the last championship match of the season at Portman Road.
We arrived on the Friday night and shared an amazing tomahawk steak at "The Grill At Twenty5" which had a lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff.
We watched the match on Saturday and spent the rest of the day soaking up the atmosphere with the wonderful Ipswich fans.
After sobering up and taking a break from the wonderful sun shine, we had our evening meal at Mariners in the marina which hosts a French restaurant on a restored 19th century boat with heaps of history and character.
We had to leave early on Sunday but would have loved to explorer further afield.
Will be back next season to see a premiership game (ticket permitting).

i liked Ipswich ,the town is small but with very nice old architecture from Tudor era, mix with Victorian style of course the moderns one are present there too. The coffee shop are the best you will remember Ipswich for this for a very long time. There is a park to visit which is very close to the centre. Suggestion: walk in the park visit the Christchurch Mansion Museum for free go to the top but when you come back take the streets along the park you will meet with beautiful, beautiful houses. In Ipswich you don't get lonely the people are very nice there , they are quick to know you and have a chat. Then there is Marina....a good place for a restaurant where you find different dishes from different countries. Then there is a football stadium too. There is lots to see around Ipswich. There are two important markets with bus station so from Cat Market I travel by bus to WoodBridge, Kersey and Felixstowe with best fish and chips etc the villages are one more appealing then other that I recommend you to visit.

Maybe we are not looking in the right places but our view of Ipswich is that of a run-down, sad town. Even the waterfront seems an unhappy place.
The nicest hotel-run restaurant we could find for breakfast by the waterfront was probably a lovely place at some point but was worn out and in desperate need of redecoration. We run away from Ipswich for the third time, to decompress in beautiful Suffolk countryside where there are dozens of nice, well looked after towns

I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
I've lived in Ipswich for a good 15+ years.
Since my return it has changed for the worse and just feels empty and lacking of anything worthwhile to do.
Parks are good (mainly in the town), lots of charity shops, bookies and pubs but lots of high street shops have closed or just boarded up.
Out of the town, lots of nice pubs to visit and walks if you have a pet or two.

The city has easily available, if you have a car, or like a walk. Access to supermarkets for us as we prefered to dine-in. Plus easy access to points of interest in Suffolk. Great selection of National Trust properties within day-trip distance.

We visit Ipswich Atleast once a year to see family, it is a pleasant city with plenty to see and do. If you are driving I recommend paying close attention to your satnav because the roads can be slightly confusing! There is a lot of history behind Ipswich which can be fascinating also. There are plenty of places to dine and drink whether that’s at a local McDonald’s or a restaurant you won’t be short handed.
With a Booking.com Genius discount this place punches well above its weight. The room service was so fast it was if the chap who brought it came from a butler's cupboard next to the room. This place probably has the best location of any half decent hotel in Ipswich. Less than 5 minutes in cab to all the fun central locations and a two minute walk from possibly the best cocktail bar int the East of England. I suspect this may be the best hotel in Ipswich central. The rooms are lovely with balconies and a view.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and the bar stuff are superb. Very proffessional and willing to accommodate your needs to the best of their capabilities. I will certainly be back to try the food. I did not try it when I stayed but when I saw it come out, it looked absolutely brilliant.
The surrounding countryside in very idyllic and great for keen walkers. Amenities like petrol etc are also not far away and Ipswich is a mere 15minute drive.
The location close to the Neptune marina and Ipswich waterfront was excellent with a free parking spot. Plenty of decent restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. Having 2 bathrooms (one on-suite) was a definite plus. Beds were comfortable. Compact kitchen but has everything you need. WiFi worked well and 2 in our party were able to work comfortably from the table. Also just 20 minute walk to the shops in the town centre.
This is a rather run-down hotel being kept afloat by a really dedicated and helpful staff team, who did everything they could to help in the face of faulty infrastructure. The location would have been good for us had the A14 not been in the process of being re-built (not the hotel's fault, but a real inconvenience).
This hotel is well located to where I work whilst in Ipswich which I find very convenient. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is very good and well priced. I am also pleased by the private parking facilities and the pleasant and helpful staff.
It's always where we stay when visiting relatives in Ipswich. Top quality rooms. On-site parking. Nothing to fault it. Always nice to meet up with Martin. Shared kitchen for those who need it but fridge and microwave in bedroom anyway.
Staff were fantastic, lovely spot on the Marina, the hotel itself very clean and great decor. Everyone was very welcoming, child and Pet friendly too. The parking and concierge service was great. Nice selection of eateries nearby.
Lovely hotel in a nice country setting only ten minutes drive from Ipswich town centre. Comfortable room with en-suite. Great pool and spa. Lovely bar with excellent food. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location, right in the town centre but hidden away.
Nice clean and modern style to the apartment.
And as an added bonus a super coffee machine and included pods of a variety of tastes.
I got to my hotel and was told my reservation had been cancelled. I was not happy. I could not find a place to complain to Booking.com about this. I had to pay nearly double to sleep elsewhere.
The property is in a very central location in Ipswich, very close to the shopping centre, parks and waterside docks/marina. The parking at the rear was very helpful.
I have stayed here before, and it's just a bit different to the regualar chain hotel. Staff great, noise supression great, comformtable, great breakfast....
Fantastic small family run hotel. Right in the middle of Ipswich. Generous room sizes with a good en suite too. Walking distance to they middle of Ipswich.
Restaurant on site, swimming pool, room with garden access, generous room size. Overall it is a nice hotel, looks pompous with it's furniture and gilding
