Good hospitality tray, kettle and toiletries provided.

Breakfast very good.
Evening meal very nice and tasty...salmon cooked wonderfully althoughI did feel there was heavy use of salt on the potato section of my meal. But overall, the meal and service was fine.

Wonderful accommodating host, who lived very close and responded to our questions on arrival. Lovely welcome pack of fruit, eggs, cake, milk juice etc. Location was great, rooms good and spacious, good range of kitchen appliances. All the other rooms well equipped. Plenty of advice of local places to see and walk in, with maps provided.

Kirkcudbright seems a small village / town but it has a library, museum, swimming pool, tennis courts, post office and many independent shops. It also has a marina and is an active fishing harbour. It has styled itself as anArtists Town but I did not explore this side of Kirkcudbright. It is also a dark skies area and has a dark skies planetarium. In short I think there is something for everyone.

Kirkcudbright is a great wee town.
Kirkcudbright is a great wee town. Plenty of cafes, galleries and things to do both in the town and its surrounds. It is a great place if you are interested in art and the countryside is fantastic to explore by car or bike if you are feeling fit. Broughton house was our favorite paid for attraction and the Kirkudbright gallery our favourite free one. We would also highly recommend a trip to the Red Kite centre at feeding time for an amazing display of avian aerobatics.

We were there to explore family history and had a car.
We were there to explore family history and had a car. That took us to the small villages and farms around Kirkcudbright, and all of that was lovely - the countryside, seaside, farmlands were all wonderful.

A very pretty small town with plenty of good cafes and restaurants. Highlight for us was the Solway Tide Cafe - gorgeous cakes and scones and really nice coffee. No shortage of galleries, museums, great local walks and friendly locals.
Breakfast was lovely, and there was a great choice on the breakfast menu, full Scottish , kippers and eggs we could choice what we wanted, Staff were very very friendly, The room was spacious and very clean,
We had a lovely evening meal, and again a lovely menu, and also the days specials to choice from.
But what a Really loved was the kindness of the staff, and the infos every morning on the menu... ie: Tide Times and a daily walk route, brilliant idea , I have been to many hotels but this little details was fantasic
The location was great - near the main street and harbour yet very quiet.
My room had a view onto the street that leads to the harbour and at the back a view onto the garden.
The shower room was spacious and seemed brand-new, the best I've ever experienced in a hotel.
The staff were lovely - relaxed, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good.
I liked that you use local free-range eggs!
Oh, and the pizza that I had in the garden was the real thing 🙂
Our trip was for the purpose of going to Galloway where my McClellan and Seaton family originated. A lifetime wish. I initially chose the Kirkcudbright Bay Shore Hotel because of its close proximity to MacLellan Castle. Our hosts, Lisa and Nish made our stay most memorable in their historic and tastefully restored property. The food was exquisite and some of the best on our wonderful journey. Salute to the chef 👨🍳
An exceptionally clean and tidy period building, extremely well appointed and decorated.
The setting is the heart of the historic, Artist’s Town of Kirkcudbright.
Make sure you dine in the restaurant, the food is excellent, made from locally sourced produce.
The staff are professional, courteous, throughout, but are very welcoming and friendly.
My wife and I can not wait to stay at The Selkirk Arms again.
The cottage was spotless and it was like home from home. Kirkcudbright is such a friendly place that you don’t want to leave. The town is like one of those Christmas films with all the little independent shops. So many places to visit with breathtaking scenery that you need several days here. The hosts were excellent. Good Wi-Fi, warm comfy beds and everything was within walking distance.
Welcoming staff at reception and in the restaurant. Pleasant , comfortable room with a great modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast included in the price . The hotel is about a mile from Kirkcudbright ,set back from the road with a large garden where we would have sat out if it hadn't been raining ! If we return to the are we'll definitely come back.
Great location, with all you need a short walk away. Kirkcudbright is a super centre for exploring this corner of Scotland. The garden is a bonus, although the weather when we stayed was not great for sitting outside. I wish we could have stayed longer! The host was very helpful when we had a couple of small problems which were easily solved.
Central location, comfortable beds, quality towels, good shower, plenty of storage. Staff very friendly, could not do enough for you. Tasty well cooked breakfast, plenty of variety to suit all tastes. Quiet rooms, lovely snug area where children and dogs are welcomed. Would recommend this hotel.
The location was perfect for exploring the town of Kirkcudbright. It was well maintained and the staff was friendly and professional. The back garden is a perfect spot for a cup of tea or a drink. The staff was helpful and friendly
The hotel is very friendly and well located in the centre of Kirkcudbright. Parking was very easy ,in the street outside the hotel. The hotel is great value for money, but don't expect 5 star facilities. I would go back again.
Our room and seemingly the whole hotel has been newly renovated. The staff were excellent and the Scottish breakfast was one of the best I've ever had!
We also had our three dogs with us and there were welcome.
Apartment was spotless, warm and well presented. Had everything we needed for an overnight stay and would have been comfortable to stay longer.
Kirkcudbright is a delightful town with lots to see and do.
Lovely apartment, just a short walk from Kirkcudbright centre. The apartment is very well equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay, bed was really comfortable and it was very quiet.
The staff were lovely, food was excellent and plentiful. The hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable. Would certainly use this hotel again if ever was this way again.
Location in Kirkcudbright was excellent and the accommodations perfect for our stay in the area. We explored the whole area and had a great experience.
