A very good choice of food, including continental. English breakfast was really cooked well. Our hosts were very welcoming providing a home from home experience, very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Even our little Frenchie was made welcome, especially by the little resident dog. Arnie. Our room was lovely, clean and tidy and very comfortable, with a really lovely view of the gardens. A great array of teas and coffees was also provided. On trying out the pool, we were definitely not disappointed, water was a comfortable temperature and the changing facilities and hot shower provided in a room just off of there were excellent.

Swan Hotel & Spa, hotel in Little Waldingfield

In the Suffolk countryside, between Bury St. Edmunds and Sudbury, this beautiful 15th-century building offers 4-star accommodation and a restaurant with 2 AA Rosettes for its fine food.

Initially we were given an unsuitable room for our needs but the staff were quick to change to an excellent room . The room was clean, airy, lovely view onto the spa and exceptionally quiet. All the facilities were of high standard and the staff were very amenable. I would definitely go back there and will recommend to my friends.

We did not have breakfast as it was extra charge. When I booked I thought breakfast was included, thought cost was quite high for one night.

    Ideally situated for our needs.

Ideally situated for our needs. Didn’t really spend much time in Little Waldingfield itself as we were visiting family in Lavenham and Soham. From what we saw of the area however was lovely nice to see green fields, a quaint little village. Newnham Farm was perfect for us, both in location and the amenities provided.

I only stayed two nights for a family funeral in the locality. The area is lovely with lots of interesting places to visit. Historic Bury St Edmunds under 30 minutes drive away, well worth a visit. Beer festival being set up in the Cathedral! Lavenham on the doorstep which is chocolate-box and picture-postcardesque.

Homely, no pretenses, old world almost "biggie best" retro style accommodation, which we welcomed. Lots of warm water, towels and linen crisp and clean. We did miss having a shower as sadly, most older folk battle with baths. Our host was welcoming and warm, accommodating, made us lovely breakfasts and most informative. A very quiet working farm homestead stopover set amongst beautiful grounds, and highly recommended if you like this appeal - we did. Bazza.
