The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space to relax and make yourself feel at home. The shared kitchen area was also a lovely addition to our stay. We had a roast dinner at the pub and that was excellent too.
On the outskirts of Cardiff, The Bear, Cowbridge is situated in the picturesque market town of Cowbridge, 25 minutes from Cardiff Airport and with good access to the M4 motorway.

This large Victorian building has character. 40 minutes from Cardiff city centre and 20 minutes from Cardiff International Airport, and less than 2 miles from the beach.

Even though when I arrived at approximately 21:45 on a Sunday, I was given the warmest of welcomes. (The bar was closed so bare this in mind when booking).
When leaving the next morning, I asked what was the easiest way of getting to the airport to collect a hire car. On hearing this, because a local road was closed, Richard (the owner, I think), offered me a lift!!

The cottage is not in Llancarfen - it's in Llanbethery, a separate village deeper into the countryside. Local signage is poor and sat nav not much help at times. We were out each day, so had brought food for breakfast, no shop in Llanbethery. We ate in Cowbridge and Llancarfen (Fox & Hounds open Wed - Sun) The Heritage Coast/Ogmore not far away and worth a visit. We also went to Cardiff and enjoyed a full day there.
