great holiday location, walking mountain biking or white water rafting and canoeing plus lots of bars / restaurants for after or instead of. The horse shoe falls are entirely uninspiring. more of a small weir in a field. the 20mph speed limits are ridiculous in places. steap hills and low speed mean low gears and high revs. Hardly improving the lives of those who live there. Wales has so much to offer, nice people, beautiful hills and rivers and some of the best beaches Ive ever seen.

Llangollen was very busy on the afternoon of arrival.

Llangollen was very busy on the afternoon of arrival. Some areas are still looking shabby especially some of the original hotels which is a shame ie window frames, doors etc etc, Road works were gone which was a huge improvement from my last visit. Small businesses exist and artisan eateries seem to be doing well. Large mobile home site was full. 20mph a nightmare for locals who are having to adjust to changes in various locations at main roads in from 30 to 40? and 20 to 50 at various stretches, there seems to be little sense in the changes that have been made, New game. spot 30mph??? .

The staff were absolutely fantastic !

The staff were absolutely fantastic ! Friendly, helpful and a good sense of humour, especially Cath :0). We were given a private parking spot in the grounds of the property which was very useful. Llangollen is a nice friendly town which we found to be very quiet, picturesque and peaceful.

    We love Llangollen.

We love Llangollen. It's such a pretty place in the middle of mountains and a fast flowing river. The historical buildings make it so interesting - medieval, Georgian, Victorian - no two buildings look the same. There are plenty of interesting shops, pubs and places to eat. The canal is so pretty too, and very peaceful. You can sit and enjoy a beer or go for a long walk to the falls and see the source of the canal. Highly recommended.

if you enjoy walking or canoeing this is the place it has plenty of places to eat depending on what you want and there are lovely gift shops to pick up something to take home it is a very busy little town and it is not suitable for young children unless they are sporty there are no amusement arcardes or funfair but plenty of walking places or cafes for tea coffee and food they also have a steam train to ride and the horsedrawn barges

The hotel was situated in a perfect location, beautiful views and a 25-minute walk into Llangollen Town centre along the canal, and a very short walk to horse shoe falls. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for all guests. The restaurant staff and bar staff were lovely and the food was great! We enjoyed our breakfast every morning and our dinner of an evening. The hotel has a fantastic log burner fire to warm up to after a nice walk! We will be recommending this hotel to family and friends as we did have a pleasant stay!

Panorama cottages are outside of Llangollen via a narrow, one lane road. The views of the mountain and valley are beautiful. The kitchen and family room are good size. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary items; we cooked our own meals most nights. We enjoyed staying at home and eating with the entire family with these fantastic views. A hiking trail is just behind the cottages. The overall value for the cottage is great ! The host Richard is most helpful.

I have not visited Llangollen for 30 odd years and fair play, Abbey Grange Hotel delivered the goods to maintain my good impressions of the area. I was in room 6, I highly recommend it, it was spacious and very clean with en-suite. The bar served local ales and fantastic food. The staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The local area is amazing, I was in the area on business, but can’t wait to return with the family on a holiday. I will be back!!

Like the previous stay, the staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. They even looked after my bichon frise again when we went to use the spa facilities. Cannot fault them. Rooms are spacious enough but I do think they could do with a cost of paint, maybe it’s the dog rooms only as I have not stayed in any other. Location of hotel is handy, walk to Llangollen itself in about 15 minutes. Would definitely stay again.

The room was excellent, a lovely comfortable king-size bed. Both the room and the bathroom were hygenically clean. Plenty of tea making sachets available, even a jar full of mint humbugs in the room. The breakfast was delicious, and was plentiful. The hotel is in an ideal location for the town of Llangollen, a short walk away. I would definitely choose to stay in this hotel again should I visit Llangollen in the future.

Great location, clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. The owners made contact with us via booking.com app and email, check in was easy, there was parking right outside. We will definitely be returning to Llangollen Town House, thank you for a wonderful stay! A refreshing change to be able to book a whole house rather than just a hotel room for twice the price.

Amazingly spacious, clean room with everything you’d need. Great to have all the usual hostel facilities while also having a hotel quality room and en suite! The location was top notch - parked in our usual car park and said “we better find the hostel” - looked up and there it was!

Cottage is central placed in Llangollen. Clean cottage, comfortable beds, outside space, free parking. Reasonably priced. Nice little snug to relax and read in. We had a surprise because we got vouches towards our breakfast. Would definitely return.
