Well-made wooden lodges with excellent showers and good cooking facilities (sharp knives). The Witch's hut barbecue was a huge hit with the children. The host, Mark, took time to make sure we were settled in and ready. There is lots of space for play, a croquet set, football field and some bikes for loan.

Long Melford is definitely a place to stay and enjoy.
Long Melford is definitely a place to stay and enjoy. We used it for a functional purpose as we were touring the area. National Trust property adjacent and a good gig street can occupy time just browsing.

Long Milford is long!
Long Milford is long! It’s a beautiful and striking place with a wonderful church and green at one end and a long engaging street which takes you to the other. Milford Hall sits near the church and is a National Trust site well worth a visit. Classic Suffolk architecture runs down the high street.

We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago.
We have visited Long Melford before a few years ago. It is a nice place to travel to. Some shops have closed but it is still interesting with its Pubs and Cafe's. Plenty of little villages and towns to explore while staying there. We were able to reach places of interest during that time.
Not far from us in Essex and Hertfordshire with lovely changes of scenery.
Very relaxing weekend.

It is as lovely old village, 3 miles long with some vey interesting period buildings. Our highlight was the Abbey Church at the top of the hill; one of the top 3 churches in England and Melford Hall, a gem of a NT property. We sent hours exploring the hall, listening to the guides and search out the references to Beatrix Potter who was a frequent visitor. We also chose to stay there because of its proximity to Lavenham, one of the prettiest villages in England, a MUST visit village. Long Melford has a great range of hotels , pubs and bars, you can choose to spend what you like. We eat in the Cock and Bull where we obtained two main meals for £14.00, excellent value, extensive range and served piping hot.

Long Melford is a lovely village with lots of interesting things to do and two big houses to visit. "Imagine" is an excellent gallery for pottery. The church is special and has unique brasses.
The cottage was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and cosy.
The bed was very comfortable and the linen and towels had a real luxury feel.
The cottage had everything we needed for a weekend away and bread, butter, marmalades and milk were provided which was a nice added bonus.
The bathroom was amazing! Big freestanding bath and large shower.
Long Melford is a lovely quaint town with several pubs, shops and cafes and a perfect starting point to explore Sussex.
All the staff were lovely. Being an old building I didn’t expect the room to be as big as it was. I have fibromyalgia so had to ask for an extra quilt, so I could lay on one and put the other over me, it was provided immediately. The meals were superb and so much nicer as I didn’t have to cook them myself. The hotel car park wasn’t very big but we normally managed to find a space on the road and parking was free which is rare these days.
Lovely breakfast, comfortable bed and room, great bath, and a lovely garden. Claire and her 3-legged cat are excellent hosts, and we really felt at home here.
The cottage is in a quiet, one-way lane, so the loudest external noise is the dawn chorus. It's a short walk from Long Melford's shops, restaurants, and pubs, and a very short drive from Kentwell Hall, where we were participating in an event.
The lodge is very comfortable and has everything you need. It's very relaxing to sit in the garden and spend time watching the sunsets. Long Melford is a lovely town with lots to see and do in the area. Kayaking near Sudbury, cycling on the disused railway and plenty of walks. Would definitely recommend this accommodation. The complimentary breakfast items were much appreciated. Thank you.
Friendly staff and excellent meals although delivery problems curtailed some of the items on the menu. Breakfast was included and was comprehensive and enjoyable. Free parking at the rear was an added bonus which made life that much easier. There are a lot of cars parked up in Long Melford. Overall, a base for a good holiday in lovely West Suffolk.
Great, clean and very comfortable room. Good location, very near to local restaurants, pubs and cafes and a good base to explore Suffolk from. Paul was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were spot on. We tried the fried breakfast, yummy boozy porridge and pancakes, all of which were very tasty and freshly made on order.
The hotel was really nice the staff were exclellent. The whole exprience was made very comfotable for us all the staff very helpful & friendly. The room was very clean. The breakfast & evening meal very good plenty of choice. A really relaxing stay we would reccomend this hotel as we would defiantly return for another stay.
It was a beautiful property and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay in long Melford during our visit with family. The yard is beautiful. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of things to cook with. The beds are comfy. They provided a few games for the kids. It was a lovely stay.
Absolutely perfect in every way. Short walk into Long Melford where there are several places to eat and drink. Hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. We loved our stay and would certainly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
It was a lovely, cozy, comfortable and well equipped cottage with everything we needed for a short romantic break. Good location, just a short leisurely walk from the centre of Long Melford where you find an ample supply of pubs, tea rooms, shops, antique emporiums, etc
The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance of everything in the village. If you want a luxury hotel this is not for you, but if you are looking for a basic, warm, clean central hotel with good service this is perfect.
Beautiful location and surroundings, just a walk across the fields to pubs and cafes of Long Melford. Tastefully decorated. Friendly owner who greeted us upon arrival. Nice enclosed area outdoors where we had breakfast.
Food (both breakfast and evening meal) was very good and the menu imaginative. The staff were very pet-friendly and generally helpful – although perhaps a little out of practice after being furloughed for so long...
Beautiful historic oak-beamed hotel. Superb breakfast with many choices. Bus stops right outside front of hotel, convenient for those like us not using a car. Really enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again.
Paul was a fabulous host and the breakfasts were delicious. Accommodation was superb. Location was great as there is loads to see and do around Long Melford. Would love to visit again.
Great setting, lake was good for a paddle, close to Long Melford... Very peaceful.
Hosts were really welcoming, and thanks so much for your thoughts Stacy and Mark!
