A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake.

Awful from when we arrived. 8 hours drive to be welcomed by a rude obnoxious guy called Chris. When we left chased us on the road , nearly causing an accident , blocking two lanes of the carriage saying we didn’t pay. He charged us twice. Police involved by us . Awful staying, awful guy. He is lucky I was not having a bad day, otherwise the idiot would be in hospital. Stay away from it

Nice hotel, room was decent size but the bed wasn't comfortable (made some awful noises when turning over). Evening meal and breakfast was average pub grub. Very expensive for what we got. It was missing the little details.

Lorton valley isn’t that well known so not over populated by tourists. Retains authenticity of the region with great local places to eat and an abundance of outdoor experiences which cost nothing but give huge rewards in terms of achievement and mindfulness
