Lovely beer garden and play area for children. Rooms were a nice size, and welcoming. large shower head and food was lovely. Side entrance to the bedrooms when the pub was closed. Lovely original feature beams. Large selection of meals and snacks on the menu. Allowed dogs to stay which is important for us when we travel and there was only an extra £10 charge for the dog. Rooms were soundproof which was nice because you had no interruption from people moving around or talking in other rooms.

I just stayed for one night, but it’s the second time I’ve stayed there, lovey place, amazing location, easy parking, very nice room and amazing breakfast, staff were very nice and professional throughout, will definitely stay there again when I’m next down- Thank you.
Lovely for exploring the Forest of Dean. Great dog walks in the area - symonds yat, soudley ponds, cannop ponds, or venture further into Monmouth (cleddon shoots / forest).
Lovely cliff walk near Lynsey harbour and a fabulous icecream parlour / cake shop on the harbour.

Lovely country with walks in neighbourhood.
Lovely country with walks in neighbourhood. However other places required journey in car. Public transport difficult to find in this area.
We self catered and enjoyed doing do, as local places were not able to accommodate such a large party of 16. Lydbrook is not that easy to get around if not familiar with the area. You need a good map and clement weather. Foot paths tend to run out or be overgrown and rather muddy. Difficult walking with young children. There are several places which are family friendly to visit within a few miles but expensive.

Super cosy, warm, great value for money.
Super cosy, warm, great value for money. WiFi was intermittent as was phone signal, but this is a reflection on location rather than cottage. Parking was a bit confusing, but that was made worse by the fact that we had a van as opposed to a car.

Lydbrook is situated on the banks of the River Wye in beautiful scenery. The B & B gave a very helpful list of local restaurants. We didn't use the nearest restaurant as it appeared to be closed because of Covid. However, we enjoyed a meal at The New Inn, Shortstanding.

Lydbrook is full of charm, it has a stunning riverside green, where you can watch the river Wye go by. There are several places to eat, including the Royal Spring, The Forge hammer has an Indian takeaway and the best fish and hips in the Forest of Dean come from the Wye Fry! There are fabulous walks through the forest on the old train line and the locals are very friendly too!
