From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Rebecca who was warn , cheerful and friendly we were made to feel welcome immediately. The hotel is tastefully decorated with fine furnishings. Our room was superb and with a sea view. Prior to our arrival we had already had a three course lunch so unfortunately, we had no room to dine in the evening. Our breakfast was amazing and upon our check out we were able to speak to Steve. He was pleased with our comments and we ended up chatting about all sorts of things, that’s what we call friendly. We will definitely be going back at some stage and would highly recommend the North Cliff Hotel

Views are wonderful from everywhere! Lots of places to visit close by such as Cliff railway, Valley of rocks, Glenlyn gorge It had been on my list to visit for a while and I truly can’t wait to go back!!

Good location for the many walks near by.

Good location for the many walks near by. Not many places to eat in the evening if you didn't want to drive any where. Lack of toilets for public use. You need to be quite fit to get the best out of Lynton as it is very hilly. People are friendly which was very good. I would recommend the Crown Hotel for food and good service.

    We really enjoyed Lynton.

We really enjoyed Lynton. We walked from our hotel in Rockford and enjoyed a pint and great fish and chips on a quiet, out of season Sunday. I imagine it's a different proposition in the Summer, but we prefer places like this when it's a bit quieter.

Lynton/Lynmouth - vey nice area. We hiked from Lynmouth up the hill - going right to pub 'the blue ball inn' - then on to Watersmeet - from there up the stream to Rockford Inn and then down to Lynmouth again. Really nice walk!

The room was well decorated and well furnished, with two lovely chairs in the bay window overlooking the sea. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was lovely and spacious. Breakfast offered a lot of choice and the foot was great. The couple who run the place were also lovely. There is a sister hotel just 100m down the road where you can also order an evening meal, which gave us generous portions. I also love the honesty bar. It felt very homely and more like an apartment as we also had use of the guest lounge as well. Would thoroughly recommend.

We received such a warm welcome when we arrived. Owners Rebecca and Steve could not have done more for us to make us feel at home. The hotel is well located, and we had a great view of both the sea and the cliff railway from our room. The staff of this hotel went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying our stay and provided great advice on how to make the most out of our time in Lynton and Lynmouth. We will definitely be visiting again.

Attention to detail - second to none, there is no room for improvement left! The breakfast was amazing! We highly recommend Highcliffe House to anyone visiting Lynton. P.S. The location is very picturesque, and surprisingly quiet given how close it is to Lynton and Lynmouth. Nice to go to sleep listening to the river. A bit distant from shops etc. if walking, but this wasn't a real disadvantage for us. The cream tea provided for us on arrival was a nice touch. We also enjoyed the use of the e-bikes hired from the owners.

Great location, nice and quiet but still very close to lynton, lynmouth and Porlock. The lanes and hill to get to the property didn't bother me in the slightest but I could see some may not like that. Breakfast was nice with some good options. Room was great, comfy beds compared to alot of hotels, big shower and tea and coffee facilities.

The location was perfect for exploring Lynton. Our host Drew was very helpful in suggesting a nearby restaurant and booking a nearby restaurant. The breakfast was outstanding! We thought parking on the street would be a problem, but after 4pm, spaces conveniently opened up. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed.

great breakfast, beautiful location with sea views, run by same family for many years who are very welcoming. The property has some very nice period features and feels cosy, it is not a modern up to date hotel which we like. Plenty parking which is useful in Lynton.
