I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. The town is of a manageable size with pretty parks, and it has various small events going on in the local pubs, plus each month there is the Treacle Market, which is a popular feature of Macclesfield.

I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.

A nice small town centre, a good choice of eateries & cafes, A couple of good ladies boutiques along with a lovely shop Rocco selling stylish boots & trainers.
The Tytherington hotel is well worth a stay as they have a good Spa & pool. Another small hotel nearby is BoHotel & eatery, lovely. Free car parking available for the town centre too.

We enjoyed our stay in Macclesfield and it was a good centre for exploring the surrounding area. The town has a silk museum and various other interesting buildings. We can highly recommend the Chinese restaurant, Jin.

I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure. It is a small town where shops and restaurants generally close quite early.
I did not have anytime to do any sightseeing in the town or outside - so I cannot really comment about the place from a leisure point of view.

I wasn't a tourist oin this trip but visiting friends in an area I used to live in.
I ate at The Chilli Banana, a large Thai restaurant and had an enjoyable meal. Also used the Coffee Shop at Arighi Bianci both for coffee stop over and lunch and it's a good location - not only do you get to see the cream of household furnishings spread over mutliple floors, but this excellent cafe.
I booked one night at The Bridge as I was working in the local area and could not have had a better experience! A beautiful hotel in a characterful little village, the room was spotless and had everything to hand that I could have needed. The staff were friendly and helpful at every stage of my stay and the breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel in my 15 years of travelling for work. The car park was more than ample and I could not have enjoyed my stay more. At £65 for the night, The Bridge massively over delivered!
The spa facilities were amazing!! The pool was big and there was a separated area for children and adults. Great for people who love to swim when staying in a hotel. The grounds itself were lovely also. The room was only a double room and it was big enough. The room was so lovely! The bed was extremely comfortable! And the lady on reception was amazing even helped us find a gluten free restaurant nearby as we have dietary issues. She welcomed us immediately and was extremely helpful. Couldn’t fault our stay!
Good choice available for breakfast. My choice of a traditional cooked breakfast was good. Prestbury is an attractive village and sited in it's centre, next to the River Bollin, this hotel with a period building at its core, is a very pleasant place to stay. From Prestbury one can easily get into Manchester by car or train. Also on its doorstep are the hills of Derbyshire and Buxton further to the east.
The property is in a great location in easy walking distance of Macclesfield town centre and an easy drive to tourist sites such as Tatton Park. It’s clean, well equipped and exceptionally quiet!!! Also great that it has its own off street parking so there is no need to worry about your car being safe if left there whilst out for the day.
I would highly recommend this property
The location is 4 mins walk from the train station in amongst some really lovely bars and restaurants. The room itself is super cute and it is clear the host has put some real thought on what could make your stay special. The room has all the amenities you need and is given a quick clean every day. A choice of hot or cold breakfast is available, which was tasty.
Wonderful, beautiful rooms that feel like a home away from home. The bed was very comfortable, really wish I could stay longer just to enjoy the comfort of that! The host, Laura, is incredibly helpful, and friendly and will go above and beyond to accommodate you. Definitely not your conventional run-of-the-mill hotel stay.
Everything was good. Great location for town centre and enough places to eat or drink on the doorstep if required.
Perfect apartment. All facilities available for short or long stay. The host was very quick and helpful when asked for information.
I will definitely book again when I need accommodation in Macclesfield.
The cottage had a lovely atmosphere, cosy and quiet. Clean, kitchen well stocked. Good location, about 15 mins walk into Macclesfield centre, but felt like you were in the countryside. Good base for exploring the area. Would recommend a visit to the silk museum and tour of Paradise Mill next door.
The apartment is in a great location and an easy walk to some good restaurants, a great bakery, and the train station. Nice, well equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean and in good shape. James could not have been a more thoughtful and welcoming host.
The rooms were spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped. It was so nice to arrive to a small container of milk, cookies, coffee and tea. The apartment's location was excellent, very close to the centre of town and lots of shops and restaurants.
Room was nice and big, bathroom had both a tub and a shower, never ending really hot water, hotel front is an older castle-looking building, rear section built in 1980s. Great location, close to pharmacy and village.
A spacious and comfortable flat in a very good location. The area is quiet, but still handy for the town centre and station. The Waters Green car park is very close by.
