Well worth visiting. We went to Dovedale which was amazing,
We stayed in Matlock and ate at the local Italian restaurant in town, which was good and reasonably priced.

Travelling via train to Matlock Bath, it is easy. The property 10 mins walk away from the station. Beautufully green and clean surroundings including Lover's walk next to the river and the easily accessable cable car service. We had a really bad weather with hails and rain but every hour is train service to Derby or Matlock which offers wonderful Bars and Restaurants. Also if you an adventoures person plenty place to discover. We loved our stay. Hot swimming pool in 2C, its wonderful.

not a very big place but lots to do!
not a very big place but lots to do!
the heights of Abraham are a must when visiting such beautiful scenery to see when traveling up or down.
lots of lovely quirky shops to visit and great places to eat! perfect for families finding something to do for the day.
We had a room with a four poster bed which was really comfortable, the bathroom was newly refurbished and very modern with a very good shower. One of the other rooms we booked had a fabulous 4 poster bed and a massive modern bathroom, the height of luxury.. the 3rd was a twin room which was adequate but not as "posh" as the other 2.
The breakfast was lovely with good quality food and the staff were very friendly as was the Landlord.
The drinks from the bar were very good also. No complaints at all...
It is a lovely cute cottage in a great location. Perfect for a couple. The bedroom was a good size and easily accommodated our two suitcases with plenty of extra room to walk around.
Only a short walk to Matlock town centre. Matlock itself was ideally situated for the activities we had planned in the Peaks/Dales. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed. I especially loved the shower, bath and very comfy bed.
I just wish we could have stayed for longer!
Hodgkinson's Hotel is situated on a busy main road in the centre of Matlock Bath. There is limited parking for 4 cars in an adjacent road and up a steep hill. This is manageable if you have a good level of fitness. You can drop your bags at the hotel first, although you will be on double yellow lines and blocking the road. The Hotel is a beautiful character building, both inside and out, so understandably the interior can look a bit tired in places.
Great location. It is a short walk down the road to the town and local restaurants/hotels. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.
High Tor was so great! I really wish we'd been staying more than one night! Perfectly located for two really nice little towns/villages, and beautiful, green views all around. The staff (owners?) at the hotel were absolutely lovely, and really helpful. So grateful to have found this place and would definitely stay again - hopefully for longer!
We had a four night stay at Matlock Spa. Lovely, new, well equipped apartment. Easy walking distance into town for restaurants in the evening - Thailand Number 1, very highly recommended. Sainsburys is practically on the doorstep. Perfect base for exploring the Peak District. Very quiet at night, we slept really well.
The whole experience.. Took our little Frenchie with us was made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast amazing... Facilities amazing... Room and view (Upper annex room) was stunning.. We can't thank the staff enough and can't wait to stay again.. Thank you New Bath Hotel and Spa... Truly exceptional 😍
Beautiful cozy little home a short stroll up the hill from Matlock Town centre!
Spotlessly clean with a beautifully fitted out kitchen and bathroom - a perfect little place for a break from it all!
Excellent communication from Judith, the owner.
Can't fault and will definitely be back!
We had the kingside room which had a four poster bed with amazing views of the matlock castle. The bathroom was also very nice and very big with a walk in shower. The food in the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful and there was a wide range of local ales for sale.
Situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath and central for visiting the Derbyshire dales. Within a short walking distance from Matlock bath and it's facilities. Great if your a walker, with walks from door. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts, and a great breakfast.
This was a beautiful location with the hotel set in immaculately designed and kept grounds with lovely country views in all directions and yet very close to the village of Cromford, the spectacular gorge of Matlock Bath and the beautiful steep-sided wooded valley of Via Gellia.
lovely pretty cottage, lockable pantry which was brilliant as we had a disabled adult who eats too much. comfy beds, lots of towels, large shower. terrific views. very clean well equipped for dogs. Matlock is very dog friendly everywhere we went was dog friendly.
Spacious room, clean and lovely view overlooking the pool. Staff at the pool were very helpful and friendly, they are clearly proud of the facility. Used the spa facilities at the hotel and had a wonderful back massage as part of the spa package.
The location is perfect for rambles right from the hotel and a short and pretty walk to eat out in either Matlock for Stones Michelin restaurant or Matlock Bath for a bag of chips.
Spotlessly clean, very warm welcome and good location for Matlock. Just a short walk from the centre. Warm house with all you need. 2 beds (1 double, 1 twin).
