We booked a double room with a great river view. I loved that it was a generous size, with two easy chairs. After a long day out, it was bliss to be able to enjoy a cuppa whilst taking in the view.
The staff were really helpful in meeting our request for a 7:30 breakfast one morning - greatly appreciated. The quality of breakfast was good, with friendly service.
The hotel does offer free car parking nearby, which we were directed to after checking in.

We arrived at the time agreed, got the keys and entered the house, to find it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous people. Beds not make rubbish everywhere.

Very quiet location but still close to nearest village with 2 pubs and tearoom. The village of Bonsall is very pretty. There is a very comprehensive welcome pack including wine and pack of biscuits which was much appreciated. The underfloor heating is very nice. Everything you need and more is provided in the cottage and it is kept in excellent condition. Liz, the host, is very helpful and recommended a trip to Chatsworth House which was well worth visiting.

Matlock Bath is such a beautiful place , the views, the walks, and a lovely restaurant called The Seafood Cave and Grill. The food here was omg so fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, not cheap but worth a visit. Some of the other local pubs ran out of food on a Saturday afternoon which baffled us to be honest? There are a lot of things to do in the area and lots of lovely countryside to walk in. Wirksworth and Ashbourne and Cromford are great places to visit. Dovedale, Chatsworth and Bakewell are not far away either and Carsington Water is only a 15 minute drive.

Close to all shops pubs etc easy to park up own parking place FREE , pubs nice food expensive, Chinese take away Cantonese Wok not nice. We walked to get cable car at £28 + EACH not worth that money ever HONEST nice ride up to top of hill 5 min ride to top and same coming down 5 mins for the money its wrong.AndyUnited Kingdom

Continental breakfast was basic and adequate, exactly what I expected. Staff were extremely helpful, I needed a cork screw and iron, these were provided then and there. Friendly and generally just facilitated our stay fantastically. I recently stayed at a 4* hotel and this one was far better than that. Will be staying again if in the area. It also had a pleasant view, was well equipped and being high surprisingly free of road noise. Breakfast choices were pre ordered, served hot, extremely tasty and good ingredients. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.
