Definitely a good place to stay especially if heading of to Orkney from Gillsbay as its at the bottom of the road 2 mins away!

The proprietors Euan & Emma were excellent company and very attentive to guests' needs. The hotel had an excellent menu with accompanying wines, beers, spirits, if required. The hotel also had an extensive range of locally-produced spirits. The accommodation was excellent and well-equipped. We had a front room, large with a generous sized wet room, the view from our room was over fields and we had a perfect sunset. Graham has put as many useful items in room as possible and more for cleaning bikes, cars - whatever. Breakfast was nicely cooked and generous. Super friendly host.

The Mey Hotel has a very nice tearoom and restaurant on site which was very nice and the food was good. The location worked for me, although it is a bit of a drive from Thurso town center, but close to other sites that were more important to me!!! The layout of the hotel is charming and the outdoor space I am sure is lovely when weather is permitting.

The meal was superb and made a great way to celebrate finishing Lands End to John O'Groats. Euan and Emma, the hotel owners are enthusiasts and made us very welcome. Rooms comfortable and well equipped.
