There was no restaurant or bar on site!
The rooms are comfortable but basic with the strangest shower come bath I've ever seen or tried to use. But hey you get what you pay for. For me. Ideal, for someone expecting something special...urrm maybe not.

Sandrine and Dominic were perfect hosts, friendly and ready to chat and inform when needed.
Our hosts were generous in stocking the fridge with a mug of milk, bottles of orange juice and water, as well as fruit and a selection of mini jam bottles for the croissants and filter coffee for breakfast!
The twin beds, at our request, were made up into a very comfortable and wide double/king size bed in which sleep was blissful. There were two armchairs at the foot of the bed for watching TV or reading.
Hafan Deg is in a small hamlet, with The Miner's Arms (no food during our visit as a chef is being sought) a one minute walk away and two other lovely pubs a short drive away that serve food.
The accommodation was composed of a spacious bedroom, another with 2 bunk beds and an adjoining small dining room.
Outside the bedroom was an inviting garden and decking with table and chairs and constant birdsong. You may, also, find yourself sometimes alternating in feeling you are invited guests in either an English country house or a 'maison secondaire' somewhere deep in the Normandy countryside - the place can have that effect on one.
If, like us, you have never heard of the Clwydian Range, then you, too, will discover it offers much for those seeking solace in an area of outstanding mountainous beauty as well as for seasoned hikers and cyclists. And then there are the not too distant towns with castles and beaches on the North Wales coastline...
Hafan Deg was a most serendipitous find, indeed. Merci/Thank you, Sandrine and Dominic!

We didn’t like anything about our stay.
We didn’t like anything about our stay. I booked a deluxe room and was fobbed off with a tiny room which was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The shower dripped really loudly. We couldn’t control the radiators so the room was boiling. We did get moved to a room which was what I had booked originally in the end but again it was filthy and crawling with bugs. The carpets and walls were stained with something. The shower or tv didn’t work, we had no toiletries in the room and had to ask for toilet roll. The entire place looks like it is just a hostel for anybody, there were random people round about the hotel who were generally weird and didn’t seem like guests at all. There’s no facilities at the hotel even though it states online that the renovations are complete, there’s no bar or restaurant or amenities so there’s nowhere to eat or drink. Overall the stay was awful and we even had to phone booking.com to help us get back into the place at the night time because no info was given when we checked in and there is never anybody at the reception to answer our question. I definitely wouldn’t be staying there here again. The place is absolutely disgusting in terms of cleanliness.

We didn't spend much time in Mold itself but it was a convenient centre from which to explore Chester and N. Wales. It took a while to work out the best routes and some road directions were initially confusing but we managed OK. The Park and Ride facility for Chester was convenient and easy. Much better that driving round looking for parking.

Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen.
Our stay was some 8 miles away from Mold in Afonwen. Mold is a small town with a great little market on Saturdays. Afonwen is a beautiful area with mountains, a nature reserve and a lake. A bird watchers paradise and great for walking and access to North Wales beaches.

Mold had charity shops and a few Quiet Pubs like a Wetherspoons But was turned away from the Red Lion Pub because was not a local & was not happy about that.
The nearest hotel was not walking distance into Mold town as the Booking site had led me to believe But there was a Bus service into Mold and to Chester.
Peaceful location, but only a short drive from the A55. I was attending a concert at the Tivoli in Buckley in the evening, and again it was only a few minutes drive away.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Food and drinks in the bar were good. Breakfast was good and plenty of it. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
We had a lovely stay at Hafan Deg. We were warmly recieved upon arrival and our room was very cute and comfortable with access to the garden! The morning breakfast was nice as well. I'd definitely recommend Hafan Deg to anyone traveling through Northern Wales.
A lovely individual style hotel with beautiful gardens.
Bedroom and bathroom were large with traditional furniture. They had everything you'd need and were very comfortable.
Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
It is NOT a hotel, its a Refugees camp, if you want to spend your days with refugees from Somalia, go for it, i looked ta the property, turned around and left, cant believe that booking.com even has the property on their website
My 2nd stay at this location. The whole apartment is always spotless, Sky tv is also available, best location in Mold. And the host even left a pint of milk and some Cookies!! Can't find a single complaint!
The building and rooms have a real Victorian charm, being well appointed, comfortable and warm. The location is secluded but remains in easy reach of road systems linking to Chester and North Wales.
Horrific experience.
Smelly hotel. Refurbishment going on. Couldn't drive in. No milk . Sleeping on cheap beds with no comfort.
The worst experience ever. TV 📺 didn't work.
Location perfect for my needs. Hotel was beautiful, room decent size, with a nice touch of history. Big bonus of onw 'front-door directly to patio (if weather was better).
Great location within the grounds of the main farmhouse, but set up to provide plenty of privacy. Very clean, comfortable accommodation with the added bonus of a hot tub.
A very charming small country hotel to stay at. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast included was certainly well above average.
The staff were terrific. There seemed to be nothing they wouldn’t do for our comfort. We’re so glad we DID NOT stay at a name brand hotel. This was far better.
As a wedding venue: Fantastic. As a hotel, it is just an expensive, well decorated B & B. Nice house and Grounds.
Staff were really friendly and helpful.
