Marshall Meadows Manor House, hotel in Mordington

England's most northerly hotel, just 300 yards from the Scottish Border, the Marshall Meadows Manor House is set in 15 acres woodland gardens and boasts sea views and good food.

Lovely period type room with en-suite & that was just the standard room. Very friendly & efficient staff. Great bar selection. Food - both evening meal & breakfast was super-duper. Location is a couple of miles outside of town, but with lovely views over the fileds & pretty quiet - you don't hear the road traffic but faintly hear the trains.

Berwick is a fascinating Town, beautiful views over Tweedmouth. A walk round the ramparts is worth doing. Amazing beaches, close by Goswick. Excellent children's playground at Spittal Promenade, next to the beach. Superb walks at St Abbs. Further afield is Bamburgh, a favourite beach with wonderful Castle beside the beach. Dunstanburgh Castle between Embleton and Craster is an easy ramble, ideal followed by lunch at The Jolly Fisherman.
