The council needs to do more to make the local area pleasant for tourists, didn`t see one policeman in the area during my stay there, saw local youths fighting though, much to the amusement of drinkers sitting outside the bars.

Beautiful area.
Beautiful area. The waterfall walks are incredible, and although they were busy at times, it didn't detract from a really excellent trip. We took lots of food and water with us, which is important as there are few facilities, and we planned our walks well. It's worth getting a map (or at least the local guide leaflet that has the walking trails clearly labelled), as there is little to no cell reception so you can't expect your phone to guide you. We used the local guide leaflet plus OS maps and had an easy time picking our preferred route. If you are looking for somewhere nice to eat, we can highly recommend Sgwd Gwladys, which had really tasty food, good drinks, incredible desserts, and really lovely staff.
It's got everything : natural wonders; historical sites; eateries , interesting walks ; shops to browse. Off the beaten track so feels 'real' and not just touristy.
Favourite places to eat : Raj takeaway and the fish and chip shop and other takeaways in Glenn Neath ; The Prices Arms in Coelbren; pubs in area which are dog-friendly. Dan Yr Ogof cafe is expensive I think so shop nearby pubs.
Fave visits ; The Hendryn waterfall and the woodland walk heading west from the waterfall; The walks to the South and North of Coelbren, Waterfall walks in the area . Didn't go to Ape Sanctuary as with dog but it looked good .
Pontneddfechan bit busy at weekends. Quieter at Northern end of the waterfall walk .

Neath is a run down town and no nice restaurants or pubs that we found ( we were pleased the hotel did have good eating facilities and a nice bar if we had wanted it), within the town centre. The location was good for our holiday as it was near to main roads to take us in a variety of directions for sight seeing. Neath abbey is well worth a visit and free.

Neath is not somewhere you would really want to stay, very run down area but it does have lots of building projects going on. You cannot get something to eat after 8.30 unless you want to pay extortionate prices. There is a Wetherspoons which doesn't come up on a restaurant serch on google. Very good base for activities in the surrounding area.

Nice little town , good places to walk and countryside and parks to visit within walking distance of the actual town Centre. Quaint little market place with local produce and gifts amongst other bits and bobs .
Several pubs and bars around offering different entertainment . I would definitely return to Neath
Clyde was very friendly and welcoming to us all, including our dog. Newly renovated cottage, beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped and hot shower in the bathroom. Secure at the front and back of the property, although I'm sure the Geese would be watching TV in the living room if you left the front gate/door open! Local area has nice walks along the River Neath and dogs can paddle in the Basin.
Friendly host who greeted me in person upon arrival, quick tour of the Cottages and some much needed info with regards to local food & drink, other than that left to my own devices (my choice!)
Location was perfect for my needs, even took a trip to Cardiff shopping and Swansea for a hike around the bay and Oystermouth Castle due to the direct access to main road routes.
Speed of communication, Customer Service, welcome, friendliness, comfiness, breakfast, homemade baking and cooking, location, helpfulness, books, music, spirituality, relaxation, hot shower, furnishings, walking, scenery, stunning waterfalls nearby, local attractions, cycling, mountain biking, Country Parks, Swansea and The Gower nearby, a home from home.
Location ideal for getting around South Wales, easy access to Neath, Swansea, The Brecon Beacons, Pembroke Coast and to the beaches. Really affordable and quaint functioning farm house/B&B with a laid back feel, which included help yourself continental breakfast. All household amenities accessible if required. Hosts were very chatty and friendly.
Location superb in town center. Cleanliness of hotel exceptional. Pub annex to hotel wonderful with a terrace ! Staff friendly. And value is unbelievable. Price of room fabulous. I really had no expectations at all coming in.Was in Neath to visit with an old friend. Hotel far exceeded my expectations.
Great location in the centre of Neath. Very friendly and welcoming staff, guided me to their parking area and even upgraded me to a suite, which was a very welcome surprise. The suite was excellent with loads of space and the stand alone bathtub in the bedroom was something I've never experienced.
A lovely cosy and comfortable cottage with lots of quirky features. We really enjoyed our weekend stay and the Welsh Cakes were very much appreciated. We were in Swansea for a swimming competition at the Wales National Pool which was an easy 25min drive, this was an ideal base.
Situated on the Parade in Neath, this hotel is a great deal. The breakfast was included and tasty. Plenary of food options within walking distance. For the athletic types plenty of room and parks for running. The pillows were soft…but I prefer a firm pillow.
honestly go to Neath just to get the chance to stay at Ty Selah. I still dream of their home made breakfast. I m a solo traveler and I ve booked countless hostels and hotels and this the first and only 10/10 I ve ever given, it was a perfect stay in every way.
Location is perfect for anyone that needs to stay in Neath town centre. You cannot fault for that. Staff were very good, polite and always keen to help. Hearty breakfast, well worth including. Cosy and welcoming panelled room that doubles as coffee/bar area.
