Private carpark off the road for motorbikes and the fact that the windows were new and opened beautifully wide so we got loads of fresh Alston air into the room. The breakfast was cooked fresh and served with big smiles. The beers are too notch too. I like this place!!!

Its a lovely cottage that is a little quirky right in the town centre. Co op right next door so really easy to get food. The kitchen is big and has a huge range to cook and large table. Bedroom was cosy and comfortable and shower very good with plenty of hot water. It was all really clean.

The place has been beutifully refurbished and is homely and very comfortable. The food was great and excellend value and the breakfast choices good and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and everything I wanted was available. My room (no 7) was very tiny but for me it was good, nice and quiet and a brilliantly comfotable bed and good shower. Position good for Nenthead mining history and excellent walking country. Miners Arms has a good menu and sells a local beer. One of the best bicycle repair shops in the country and the local shop sells everything.
Garrigill is worth the long climb for the spectacular scenery.
Look out for curlew and lapwing and more.
