New Mills is a lovely, distinctive town with a system of old viaducts that you can walk under and around. Other walks include the Millenium Walk that passes by the river Goyt and the ruins of an old mill. The local shops have everything you need for a visit and there are some lovely restaurants we would particularly recommend Sicilian restaurant A Travola. The town is well located for exploring the southwest area of the Peak District beyond with tors and dales a short drive away.

    Lovely place to stay.

Lovely place to stay. There was a real homely and family feel to it. Dogs and children welcome. The staff couldn't do enough to help. The food and drinks were really reasonably priced, portion sizes were huge! Would absolutely stay here again. Such good value for money

The position was the best, right on the Marina by the canal.

The position was the best, right on the Marina by the canal. Excellent Italian Restaurant 10 minutes walk away. Town had everything, pubs, restaurants, take aways, supermarkets. Very friendly and relaxing place. Two train stations if you want to leave the car and perhaps visit Manchester or Sheffield. Excellent nearby walking. Peak district is beautiful. The big negative was no hairdryer or broom to sweep up dogs hair etc
