The setting of The Nags Head is stunning being directly next to the river with facilities that are fantastic. The bedroom was very comfortable and spacious and tea/coffee was constantly topped up with local products. The breakfast choice was also great, again using Welsh ingredients. Evening meals are available which should definitely be tried, as the food choice and quality is top notch. This is the 3rd visit and we will be back!

I really enjoyed having a kitchen that was fully stocked with all the pots and pans one needs for self-catering, as well as little bonuses like milk and coffee so we didn't have to do a mad dash to the nearest shop to get basic supplies. I also enjoyed the space we were afforded and being able to follow the map kindly provided to figure out how to get walking paths.
This is a super family run hotel. Quaint but with all the mod cons necessary to have a very comfortable stay.
The staff were super helpful and friendly. We would have loved to stay longer and hopefully will return.

Newcastle Emlyn town was a great find with a good array of unique shops and places to eat - a complete unknown before this visit although we know Wales well. The castle offers additional interest - we easily spent a day in the town. The area is beautiful and provided a tranquil, relaxing base for a great holiday.

Go when the hotel is open and operating correctly, currently they are far behind the covid rules for Wakes. We had spent the previous few day in North Wales and enjoyed full facilities, we had to wear masks but all the restaurants and bars were open.

Small picturesque riverside town. Some nice cafes with Riverside seating and view and a few shops and bars. Nice for a few, days or as a base to visit local beaches. Nice Riverside walks, watch out for the police speed vans that frequent the area though.

This is by far the cleanest self catering property I have ever stayed in. |It is absolutely spotless..
The breakfast hamper was excellent which comprised of milk, butter, bread, eggs,,orange juic,e, tea, coffee ,hot choc, welsh cakes, marmalade, jam, porridge, muselei, cornfakes, red berry cereal...what more could u ask for. slippers were provided
and shampoo, body wash and conditioner in the shower room. All the facilities one would expect from a hotel. First class. Would highly recommend and we have very intention of returning.
The design of the layout of the lodge was very well thought out and the added bonus of an ensuite. The bed was extremely comfortable and the lodge had more than enough heating. Richard the owner greeted us on arrival and departure and wanted to ensure everything was right for our stay and he was so pleasant. So near to Newcastle Emlyn where there are many pubs, different variety of restaurants and shops and the locals are so friendly and made us welcome.
Very friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out process. I very much liked the food in the hotel restaurant, that 'Italian Job' Burger was on of the best I have ever had. Very clean and cozy little hotel which was perfect for my one night stopover.
If you live in a bustling and noisy town then you will find Newcastle Emlyn so phenomenally quiet at night that you get a good nights sleep.
We had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful with nice homely touches and Tony and Chris were exceptional hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The hospitality was beyond what you would expect for a standard hotel and we felt very welcomed into their home. As we were passing through we could only stay for 1 night, but next time we hope to stay for longer.
The single room was among the nicest I’ve ever stayed in - really nicely furnished, spacious shower, spotlessly clean. Pound for pound, absolutely the best. The hotel was well staffed and the staff I met were extremely helpful and friendly. They seemed retired have a good level of job satisfaction from working there.
Cosy, comfortable quiet location, we had our meal outside in the shade, but there was also sunny places to sit. Joyce was very friendly and welcoming. Lots of animals around sheep chickens alpacas and a very friendly cat.only ten minutes from the shops of Newcastle Emlyn, with picturesque walks by the castle.
Hotel was convenient for our needs. Staff very friendly and helpful. No cleanliness issues. Exterior of the hotel looked a little tired and some of the interior paintwork was a bit tatty but on balance I would recommend the Emlyn hotel.
A beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect.
Julie and Andy made me very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
Set in a lovely quiet location.
Breakfast is served in your room. A perfect place for a few days away.
Animals, views and scenery. Twin beds suited me and my son, and the host were friendly. I really liked nearby Newcastle Emlyn, and visiting Mwnt. Good location for where we needed to visit. Good price.
It was a very well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage with lovely walks straight from the door. Close to Newcastle Emlyn. Owner supplied lots of treats on arrival and was very helpful.
The hotel was lovely and the room itself was a nice big room, and plenty of room to park. On second and third day breakfast was lovely as came out on hot plates.
Breakfast OK, Evening meal was great. Staff good. Great provincial hotel with a friendly atmosphere. The bar was good and the staff were very accomodating.
