I love the scenery, the wildlife, I'm a walker, so great walks, the town of oakham has everything u need, but what I like most is it's not commercialised, still a pretty little market town.i also used train & went to peterborough, the parking at the station was only £2.50 for the whole day. I had lunch one day at a lovely little cafe tucked in the corner of the market Square called Hungry Birds.

The Courtyard Rooms are within golf complex. I was impressed with the accommodation. very clean and spacious. Bed comfortable. Good bathroom with excellent shower. Brakfast was above average and staff very good.
The location ideal for getting to know the area and only 5 miles from the attractive town of Oakham and easy driving distance to Melton Mowbray and Stamford. The little villages in Rutland are very attractive and well looked after. Plenty of pub/restaurants. Great area for a few days break.
Peaceful location, lovely courtyard room with everything needed, including a very comfortable bed. Fantastic breakfast and excellent evening meal on the day we chose to eat there. It was nice staying next to the bar - we could have a drink in the evening without worrying about who was going to drive. We're not golfers, but learned a bit about the sport while we were there! Also was great to be so close to the Nature Reserve and able to walk around Rutland Water.
Very efficient staff, especially Daniel. Wonderful welcome on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely, cosy public areas with open fires. A steady stream of customers providing good atmosphere. Easy parking at rear of hotel. Excellent food, huge breakfast. Quiet bedroom in the courtyard area. Super power shower. Nice town to explore. Couldn't fault it. Well done everyone at the Admiral Hornblower.
Fabulous location near to Rutland Water. Lovely hotel, great staff and tastefully presented. The breakfast is all locally sourced food and is absolutely delicious. We had an evening meal, and again, cannot be faulted and very reasonably priced. All staff we had the pleasure of meeting were really warm and welcoming.
Fabulous old rectory in a quiet village outside Oakham. Friendly, helpful host. Easy parking. Good WiFi. Comfortable bed in a spacious, en-suite room overlooking the gravel driveway. No traffic noise so slept soundly. Best breakfast I've ever had in a B&B! Great value for money and highly recommended.
From the moment we checke in everything was exemplary. Charisse the receptionist/concierge was delightful, professional and helpful. The room was lo very, updated and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Location was easy walk to all Oakham has to offer, highly recommend.
Well, we have been coming to Oakham/Rutland fishing for the past 20 years, usually staying at the 'Whipper in', the transformation the NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM, have made and continually making will bring back this hotel to the standard expected by visitors to Oakham.
The location was excellent. The room, with its lakeview was exceptional. We met up with family who came from East Yorkshire and we spent the day touring the area before they left for home.
They, too, were impressed with our hotel and took several photos.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast one of the best we have had in a hotel and evening meal was lovely too. We would recommend The White Lion Inn to anyone who asks about hotels in the area.
We used Oakham hotel for an overnight stay for my Hen Do. Excellent location for Rutland Water activities. Staff were brilliant, rooms were clean and easy to access. Connected restaurant was fantastic. Absolute value for money. Highly recommended.
Well located near a park and grocery stores. 10 minute walk into the centre of Oakham. The two bedrooms with double beds were separated by the living floor so provided privacy (we didn't use the other two top floor bedrooms).
This is a delightful apartment to launch your Oakham visit. Everything is a quick walk out the door. The apartment was quiet at night and very comfortable. Having the extra space made our visit terriffic.
The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and on time. All the hotel staff were very professional and caring. A great location close to Rutland Water.
Excellent restaurant, pub, and hotel. Great location for walking around Hambleton and Rutland water in general. In warm weather the terrace is superb. No hesitation in recommending.
Only there one night, arriving and leaving while dark so could not see the whole hotel. Arrived too late for evening meal so really only saw my room, which was excellent
For a 3 star hotel we thought it was very nice.
