A thriving town with lots of independent shops to browse in, eateries & bars & the distillery. There are several museums & galleries. There are frequent drama productions. All the hotels were well signposted. The scenery is superb with the River Tummel, lochside, woodland & mountain vistas. Loch Faskally is absolutely stunning & Queens View is aptly named. There are many walks available from Ben Vrackie 841m, to many waymarked walks in the forest parks. There is a great stroll down to the river & a nice park near the hotel. Great for angling & cycling routes south of the river. The botany of the limestone outcrops is famous.

Lots of choices of restaurants / pubs.

Lots of choices of restaurants / pubs. Plenty of quaint shops on the high street. A good base for sightseeing. Short car journey from The House of Brewer. We stayed 1 night to break our journey up, so limited time to fully explore the area.

Always love walking along the river and crossing the dam.

Always love walking along the river and crossing the dam. We had more time this time, so walked down to the boats and enjoyed a lovely cuppa from the other side of the dam. There's a path that runs from the start of the dam (behind the car park) and around the side of the dam into a housing estate. Then walk down towards the Green Park Hotel. You must take a trip to House of Bruar ! Fabulous shopping experience.

Good location to visit The Highlands.

Good location to visit The Highlands. Train station at the bottom of the gardens. Only 30mins from Perth (where we rented a car) and 1hr 30mins to Inverness. 7 miles to Queens View, great view point of Loch Tummel and Schiehallion. House of Bruar department store 10mins by car. There are buses but not many. Fishers Hotel good hotel, good Restaurant. The Coach House serves very good food (not cheap). Plenty of other places to eat and Supermarket just off high street.

Visiting the Dam and Distillery is a must

Visiting the Dam and Distillery is a must Plenty of eating out places with good atmosphere especially McKay’s and Old Mill Hettie’s coffee and cakes were delicious Disappointed Scotland Spa Hotel did not do evening meals on a Sunday or Monday which was not stated on our booking. Also the receptionist had to leave her post to make up our room and top up loo roll as room /bed was not made up that day

Pitlochry is a lovely small town with nice shops and lots of cafes and restaurants. There are lots of things to do from a visit to the lovely small theatre to the salmon leap. Loch Faskally is a lovely walk especially in the autumn and you can walk through the Pass of Killiecrankie to Queens view. There are lots of places to stay within all price points. Lots of wildlife such as red squirrels and lots of birds. Perthshire is famous for its golden and sea eagles. You can walk , cycle, white water raft nearby, great for all outdoor enthusiasts.. All in all it suits most people of all ages and intetests.

Lovely staff, very welcoming and accomodating. And the dog was such a cute addition too! The hotel is just 5 mins walk to the main road in Pitlochry, and easily accessible both via car and walk/public transport. Room was clean and the bathroom had a nice shower, a big bath and also heated floor. Tasty breakfast, and we particularly loved the fact that all the products were local, and the attention to sustainability was clearly visible.

We loved our stay at the Atholl Villa Guest House. James one of the owners is great to chat with, and he gave us a lot of tips around Scotland. This B&B is on the main street so easy to walk to all the shops, and we were offered the chance to park our car there for a few hours past check-out time which helped us explore Pitlochry. The breakfast was great and the room super comfortable.

Hotel room was dated but clean and quite small but the ensuite was fairly modern with a great shower. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, 1 min walk from bars and shops of Pitlochry main street. Pool area was lovely with jacuzzi, sauna and steamroom all working. Nice clean changing rooms too. Breakfast was ok and part of the price.

Room size was large, beautiful views, very nice staff, breakfast porridge was the best I’ve had so far in country, and we enjoyed the dinner at the hotel. It is easy to walk from the hotel to anywhere in town, so park and walk. We are from Fl and found the room a little warm, but that may just because we are so used to air conditioning. Nice stay.

An excellent hotel. Charming and relaxing. Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff and the best food we’ve come across in a long time. Comfortable bed and dog friendly which is one of the reasons we chose it in the first place. We intend this to be our go to hotel in Pitlochry next time we visit.

The hotel is very comfortable and well situated in Pitlochry. We had a very good dog friendly room with a large king sized bed and excellent en-suite shower. Our dog was able to sleep in an entrance area which was separate from the bedroom.
