A lovely picturesque small market town.

A lovely picturesque small market town. Xmas lights particularly impressive. Good choice of pubs, cafes, restaurants. Lots of independent traders and retailers with welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. 30 minute bus ride to York or Beverley so no need to use own transport.

    Very good meals.

Very good meals. Breakfast offered many choices, including full English breakfast. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Near the town centre and all the facilities. Bus stop nearby. Bicycle storage available in locked place. Staff very helpful and friendly. Television in room. Kettle and drink refreshments provided in room. A lovely stay and plenty of places to visit in the area. Public living in the area could be very noisy at night in the early hours which can disturb light sleepers! Perhaps late night revelling happens? But anti social people not staying at the hotel are not the responsibility of the staff.

Everything was great from before we arrived.

Everything was great from before we arrived. They called to see what time we would arrive - we were 5 minutes away, but the call was appreciated. Very helpful once we got there, helped us to extend our stay so we didn't have to leave so early, pointed us in the direction of shops and onsite facilities. Where was stayed was lovely, it had everything we needed and was very clean - except for the big spider that kept trying to join us each night. The hot tub was clean and we could sit there and watch the little ducks and have breakfast with them. Was a nice stay

Situated in tranquil surroundings with wonderful views, the lodge we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and clean. We had breakfast and an evening meal in the Glasshouse Restaurant on both days we were there and both meals were faultless, beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Staff were pleasant and happy to help with any information we needed. When we left I didn’t realise I had left a bottle of expensive perfume and aftershave in the cupboard and I was contacted by staff and arrangements were made for this to be posted out. This showed me how honest and trustworthy the staff are who work for the company.

We went to Pocklington for a gig at the Arts Centre. Perfect location, just 5 mins stroll away from the cottage plus several pubs to have a meal before and drinks after the show. Several individual shops in town to look round and several historic/nature walks. Assembly Cottage is lovely, very clean, had everything required in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms (shampoo, conditioner and bodywash was a nice touch), comfortable lounge with information on things to do and see in the area.

Everything. It feels like a home away from home! The fire is the best touch. There is nothing better than coming back and putting on the fire on especially when it's cold and it was definitely cold up north. The owners are very lovely and accommodating. Pocklington itself is a lovely little village not far from York itself. I would definitely consider returning again sometime!

Continental breakfast excellent with various cereals, yoghurt, berries, other fruit, juice, tea, toast, jams. Pocklington lovely town, rural aspect, historical building, good food. We also opted to take the bus to take in the wonderful Roman and Viking history of York, together with bustling markets and eateries.

Kay provided us with a wonderful breakfast, and arranged lots of vegan alternatives for me. The B&B was a short walk from Pocklington, and from there we were able to catch the bus into York and be in the centre of town within 45 minutes. We would absolutely come back and stay again, we had a lovely time

They had ample storage for bikes (it's on the Way of the Roses, a popular cycling route). Breakfast was buffet style, not a common choice in the UK, but very practical when you're serving large groups that all want to set off at the same time. Food choice at breakfast was good.

Very convenient for all the facilities in Pocklington and the surrounding area. The property was in immaculate condition the only problem would have been the street parking but this was solved by a very helpful next door neighbour.
