Good mix of conventional high street shops and largeish shopping centre with a department store. Excellent circular bus routes and other services to places of interest. Beware off season harbour trips they never ran Feb despite crew telling us they would. Major attraction Brownsea Island shut until spring.
If you stayed in the right part of Poole the buses are amazing - you can get to lots of wonderful places easily. Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops and places to visit. Places worth visiting by bus, Swanage via Corfe Castle (amazing). Bournemouth - very easy to get about but very expensive to park and stay. Poole lovely and friendly people and helpful.
Really love the area around the Quay - lots of places to visit, eat and walk Enjoyed Poole Pottery, quaint old town buildings and quirky shops Good selection of shops in the Dolphin Centre and main shopping street
Poole town centre isn’t up to much. Lots of empty shop premises but as is the case in most towns these days! However, some good shopping malls on the edge of town. Lovely harbour area and walks/cycle routes along the front. Nice beach area and childrens playground. Lots of restaurants/pubs along the front.
Town museum very good. Old town was interesting and quite compact, so easy to see all within a couple of hours. Didn't have time to do coastal path from Poole round Sandbanks, but section from Canford Cliffs to Bournemouth is stunning - complemented by an unexpected sandstorm! Unfortunately the chain ferry from Sandbanks to Studland was closed for maintenance: also Brownsea Island was closed (but it was November).
I would like to have seen more but unfit weather to explore. Plenty to see and do.friendly people and helpful..Cafes very friendly and helpful included. Good boat trips are available if the weather permits.choose Spring Summer or Autumn to visit .Other towns close by to visit which also are worth visiting.Take at least two weeks to see things worth looking at.
We ate one night in the restaurant which was fabulous. much better than expected. Although the hotel is old, it was very clean and comfortable with evidence of ongoing expenditure with new carpets and soft furnishings. The staff were very helpful, you knew immediately upon entering that you were in a better quality hotel.
The room was attractive and comfortable and a better size than I expected from the website. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was ideally located for the reason for our visit - a function at the Guildhall - and also for exploring old Poole. We enjoyed our visit and would stay at the Antelope again
Sarah's cottage was perfect... just what we needed for a long awaited break. The property met ALL our requirements ! Very clean all round... the beds and bedding were of above average quality and very comfortable. It was within easy reach of shops and Poole Quay. Hope to visit again

The location is perfect. You go out the hotel straight onto Bournemouth‘s golden sands. The hotel has a lovely outside area. Pool, sun lounge and shower. The inside spa area is clean and enjoyable.

location was good on Poole Quay close to restaurants and bars. and they agreed to refund our second night when we decided to cancel it as the hotel wasn’t a nice place to stay.
