Aberdunant Hall, hotel in Porthmadog

Situated within Snowdonia National Park, Aberdunant Hall is a 17th-century property set within 200-acres of woodland on an idyllic upmarket Holiday Home Park.

It was a lovely place to stay. The property met our needs for the weekend away. It was clean, warm and had everything what we needed. We had an amazing food served at the restaurant. It was above all our expectations. The service was brilliant, food presented well and the taste was amazing. After a long hike we felt pampered like queens at this lively place. Thank you.

Built by a visionary architect in 1925, Portmeirion Village & Castell Deudraeth overlooks the beautiful Dywryd Estaury.

Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal was average. But we went to the Port Meirion hotel for two evening meals and there the food was extremely good.

Tudor Lodge, hotel in Porthmadog

Porthmadog High Street is 30 meters and both national and steam trains are within 600 meters of Tudor Lodge. The Tudor Lodge is a family run bed and breakfast.

Great location right in the centre of town but very quiet at night. Within five minutes walk of the railway station for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway which was the purpose of our visit. Also within a ten minute drive of Portmeirion. The most beautifully prepared and varied choice of breakfast we have ever experienced in a guest house. Outstanding.

Great restaurant's to take your pick from.

Great restaurant's to take your pick from. A really lovely pub (The Australia) highly recommend and the Snowdonia national park on your doorstep . you can also take advantage of the main line train to do large sections of the Wales coastal path getting off and walking a section and on again at different stations, Note, please tell the conductor witch station you want to get off at as the train doesn't stop automatically at all stations. Welsh coastal path is stunning in and around porthmadog well worth walking.

We primarily chose this hotel so that we could spend time in Port Meirion village. We did go into Porthmadog and took a ride on the steam train. There are shops and cafes in Porthmadog but we dis not visit them.

Porthmadog is the perfect place to stay when visiting Portmerion, or if walking and exploring the area. It does have a pretty harbour/marina. There are plenty of choices for eating out. Plus the heritage railway is a short walk.

We stayed in a Cabana and for a family of four it was amble for a couple of nights. The lodge was very modern and super clean. The kids loved the mezzanine sleeping area. We are at the hotel both nights, and the food was delicious. The pizza on the outside pizza oven was a highlight and the kids were happy playing in the play park which was viewable from the outside dining area. Location is also idea for everything you might want to do in the area. All in all really lovely break and would 100% recommend it.

All the staff in Royal Sportsman Hotel were super nice but professional — offering suggestions on where to eat, what to do, how to go to attractions etc. They were clearly short-staffed — I saw many of them worked long hours (especially the F&B members) but yet they were cheery and helpful to me throughout my stay. The room was exceptional, cosy and clean. The location was only 5 minutes walk from Porthmadog train station.

Tasteful and stylish smart decor, comfortable beds and lounge furniture and a well equipped kitchen. Plus a powerful large walk in shower. It was lovely to be able to see the Porthmadog harbour and all the comings and goings through the patio doors and from the balcony deck. Quiet area, beautiful location. We went crabbing from outside the front of the apartment over the harbour wall. Fantastic property!

The location is central to the city and boat marina as well as pubs and shopping area. Our room was cozy, quiet and the beds were very comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and were totally happy with the food. The mussels were the star of the meal, probably the best I've ever eaten. Breakfast was a typical LARGE British and was very good. Yr Hen Fecws is highly recommended IMO.

Beautiful historic stone cottage on the waterfront - short flat walk into town with many good shops, cafes & eateries. Porthmadog is a good central base for exploring the stunning scenery, towns and villages of North Wales, Snowdonia and Anglesey. The 2 parking spaces are a blessing and the owner responded very quickly to our broadband problem caused by Storm Arwen.
