Hotel Tresanton, hotel in Porthscatho

Located in Saint Mawes, 2.6 km from Cellars Beach, Hotel Tresanton provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Beautiful hotel in an extremely beautiful part of the country. This deceivingly small hotel, which isn't that small one, you get up the steps from the main road is a hidden gem. The hotel manager Karen is a delight to deal with and converse with as are an array of staff, particularly Talin the chap who works the restaurant. Food is impeccable and can not be faulted, nor can its position within walking distance of everything.

    ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! The owners were very courtesy and welcoming. The food was terrific, and the location was so beautiful, especially the garden. We were upgraded to a larger room and could not have been happier! I would definitely return for a longer stay.

Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult...

Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult even off season. The streets are narrow and parking is very limited. There is a free carpark in Gerrans (10 min up hill). It is a very touristy town but still retains a lot of its old world charm. Lots of little, expensive shops, one pub, a few cafes and a convenience shop for necessities. The coast path runs right through Portscatho and there are some wonderful walks to be had. Also several beaches to be explored, usually at low tide only. Well worth a visit close by are St Mawes, Veryan, Melinsey Mill near Veryan, St Anthony Head and St Just in Roseland church, The Hut cafe is a short walk from Portscatho on the coast path.

Porthscatho is the very best of the quintessential English coast line. Naturally beautiful, clean beaches. Safe for children to play. Equally Good for paddle boarding or canoeing. Or just to chill and read a book.

I loved the location of Portscatho surrounded by the beach with beautiful picturesque walks along the beach with the quaint cottages with manicure gardens to admire as you walked by. I was lost for word at the stunning awesome beauty of the landscape where Portscatho sits and can only imagine wanting to live in one of those idealic cottages. Two words some up this magnificent place, incredible stunning.

My friend and I walked down from our B&B to The Hidden Hut and the wonderful beach a short walk from the village of Portscatho. Beautiful scenery and views on a clear day for miles . Very friendly staff and great service in the local pubs and restaurants . We visited Tatams a tavern for pizzas 🍕 eat in or take away . We also had a lovely meal in The Plume of Feathers a great friendly pub , staff were lovely 😊 Beautiful walks for young and older people, swimming 🏊‍♀️ from a lovely sandy , dog friendly beach . Rock pools as well 😎

A fabulous location overlooking Porthcernick beach and Portscatho. The hotel is centred around the amazing view with comfortable garden furniture positioned to admire the view and dining tables looking through floor to ceiling picture windows to capture the view. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We booked for dinner and were impressed with both the presentation and quality of the meal. It’s rare to have our expectations exceeded, but this was our experience of The Rosevine Hotel - a wonderful surprise.

Driftwood is a beautiful and special hotel. It is in an amazing location with a superb restaurant and excellent attention to detail. We loved the laid back luxury and relaxed approach to providing excellent service. The walk to the hidden hut for lunch was fabulous and sitting on the terrace for breakfast was a treat as the view is just magic. The sea on one side and a patchwork of green fields on the other side… If possible Room 2 is amazing as it is a corner room with views in all directions complete with a gorgeous bath.

Regulars at what was the Roseland House Hotel back in the 80s, we have wanted to return to the hotel in its new guise for a long time. It did not disappoint. Opened the room door to see the colour of the turquoise sea, and then straight down to the beach. Back up for a cream tea, which was a mistake as the scones were huge and we had booked quite an early dinner in the restaurant. Walked down the lane at night to the main beach under the starriest sky. Very glad that this little corner of the world is pretty much unchanged.

Breakfast was very good, service in the restaurant was excellent for dinner also and the food was superb. We enjoyed the pool, being able to use it exclusively for a set amount of time after booking. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped, we didn't have a sea view but this was known on booking. The grounds are delightful and the walk to the beach is only 5 minutes from the hotel and a gorgeous short coastal walk to Portscatho.

The level of personal and attentive service was exemplary. I have worked in many 5 star hotels and stayed in countless more but rarely have we experienced such excellent and warm service! The food was another example of the detail to attention and quality of produce used to prepare the dishes. Amazing all around.

The location is stunning, the owners and their staff were extremely approachable and friendly. The breakfasts and dinners were especially good. The hotel is an ideal base for a quiet holiday and excellent as a base for walking the coast path. We were so lucky to have glorious weather too. Thank you.
