Aberdour Hotel, Stables Rooms & Beer Garden, hotel in Rosyth

A friendly, family-run hotel situated in one of Fife's picturesque coastal villages, specialising in fresh fare, using local Scottish produce where possible.

Loved the wee village of Aberdour & loved my stay at The Aberdour Hotel. The room was clean & comfy. The staff were simply great, all friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was sooo good, as were the dinners that I had. I certainly will be recommending this place to friends. Really good experience.

Rosyth styles itself "Scotland's only Garden City" and it does not disappoint with its palette of early twentieth century Arts and Craft style buildings. A variety of Scottish style architectural elements produces a delightful contrast with the English equivalents. Not all subsequent modifications have been kind, for instance there does not seem to be a single original window surviving. The plastic replacements are as ugly and clumsy as they are everywhere. But the overall effect remains. A gently undulating landscape adds picturesque incidents in the slightly predictable Garden City layout, and the countryside beyond has a rugged beauty that is not seen in Welwyn or Letchworth. Unfortunately the generous layout and wide avenues is conducive to very fast traffic ably assisted by clumsy road engineering where roundabouts and innumerable barriers further subjugate the pedestrian to the speeding motorist.

A very pleasant area away from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh's city centre. What's more you take the majestic Forth Rd Bridge across to get there (if you're coming from the South of course).

I stayed at Hill Park Hotel.

I stayed at Hill Park Hotel. I had all my meals in the hotel restaurant. Very reasonable prices. I went into the Hotels' public bar where I watched sport (rugby) with some of the punters, while others played pool. Great environment with lovely staff. There is a Take-Away shop just round the corner (same building as the hotel) Driving around was very easy. I also got to visit the local shops where there is a GREGGS, NISA and a SHELL garage. All these are within a 5minute walk from Hill Park Hotel. Although I travelled in a private car, I did notice a regular bus service on the roads of Rosyth which I imagined made public commuting quite easy.

Rosyth has nothing really to offer other than this hotel but it very close to Dunfermline which has great restaurants and pubs. There is an Indian restaurant within 5 minutes walk of the hotel but we didn't try it. The bus trip to Edinburgh was 25 mins (approx) on the X55 route. Bus stop was 5 minutes walk away.

A small Fife town with plenty of pubs and some shopping. Useful location as a stopover if going south and not wanting to pay Edinburgh prices on the other side of the Forth. Also very easy access to Dunfermline which has a lot of history and is well worth a longer visit.

The house is located in a relatively quiet area in the city, although with shops, petrol station and restaurants all on walking distance. Within 20 minutes by car a free P&R in Edinburgh is reached. From there only 30 minutes to Edinburgh centre by tram. The house is a bit outdated, however efforts to modernise the house are visible, the kitchen has new equipement and the bedrooms had new carpets. The owner left us a welcome sign and basket with cookies, crisps and juice.

Lovely host who is doing psychology so is naturally interested in talking to people. Quiet, comfy. A real airbnb as the host is on site. Breakfast included (most airbnb's don't include it)! Good location. Rosyth has easy access to everywhere via train (5 minutes walk) and bus (also 5 minutes walk). Big Tesco supermarket is 5 minute walk away.

the bed was comfortable and the staff, when I could find them where friendly, there is a deal for people staying at the hotel at the Italian restaurant in the same building, which makes very tasty food additionally, the hallways and other businesses in the same building are very well put together in this 100+ year old building

The apartment was clean, but it should be mentioned by the owner in the description that there is only one supermarket a 9-minute walk away and the next one 33 minutes away, the area is a bit far from the center by bus and train, 1 hour and so from Edinburgh, where most of the city's attractions are

The host was so helpful. She suggested places to eat in the area and called ahead to a restaurant to get a reservation. The room was all we needed to get to an early morning flight. There wasn't a flat screen tv, but we didn't miss it. Based on our need, we would stay again.

Located about a ten minute walk from the Rosyth train station, about a half hour train ride from Edinburgh. Price was much cheaper than staying in Edinburgh. Saw other reviews complaining of noise. My stay was quiet.

It is a very good location to get to the airport by car. During the Edinburgh festival it was very hard to get a hotel, so this one worked out well to spend the night before leaving Scotland
