Set 2.9 km from Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre and 8 km from Glenfiddich Whisky Distillery, Dandaleith Cottage No.1 is in Craigellachie and has a tennis court and a terrace. Excellent location for access to the coast, woodland trails and the Spey Way. Great access to the whisky trail. Really cosy spot for a short break away. Tastefully decorated
The Kennels- Speyside Self-catering cottage offers accommodation halfway between Aberlour and Elgin, 12 km from Macallan Whisky Distillery. it was a tremendous holiday stay . the cottage exceeded our expectations . everything you needed for a comfortable stay and more . Roy is a fantastic host very knowledgeable on local area and his whisky tasting evening was out of this world . Will certainly return to this beautiful house .
Set in the small, quiet village of Craigellachie, the Highlander Inn offers a restaurant, free WiFi access and free parking. Great position for visiting Speyside. Clean and warm room. The whole staff is very kind and welcoming. Feeling like at home. Excellent pub just downstairs with good food and wide selection of whisky. I would strongly suggest the place to everybody
Ok for a walking base. No eating facilities in village due to COVID restrictions. Very busy thoroughfare for distilleries so no good for peace and quiet. Free parking good. With COVID everything closed even whisky bars in the pubs.
Central so easy to get to all the big whisky distilleries but only 15 minutes from Moray Firth coast as well. Quite a few hotels and a chippy so easy to eat out and small supermarket and tourist info place. Nice walking around the village. Everyone friendly.
As a whisky enthusiast, Rothes is in a great location for daily excursions to the many distilleries in Speside. We always take our dog on holiday, and while I'm visiting distilleries, my wife spends time walking in the countryside, wife our dog, so both activities are easily satisfied within Rothes itself, and also in the surrounding area.
Rothes is a working town, sleepy at night with really only one major bar (Victoria) besides The Station Hotel. No restaurants, besides The Station Hotel either.....enjoyed my time with the working locals in the neighborhood bar and would stay here again due to its proximity of so many distilleries. Walking distance to Glen Grant Distillery but Strathisla is a must visit (Susan, our guide) was awesome and it's a nice 20 min drive from Rothes.
Only found the hotel online after searching for a room with ensuite facilities which was near to Dufftown, a place where we were attending a birthday party. Never been before but hotel staff were very friendly, informative about the vast array of whiskies on display in the bar, local history, and generally interested in us. Its a quiet location but access to all distilleries on the tour and nearby to lots of tourist sites.
Lovely hotel, very luxurious, in the middle of the Speyside whisky area. The bedroom was furnished in the boutique style and all the fixtures and fittings are very high spec. The bed was seriously comfy, the room was a bit too hot for me but that was my fault for not adjusting the room thermostat on the wall! We had dinner and it was as high standard as the rest.
Large comfortable rooms and beds, food was good, great breakfast, great motorbike parking, very helpful staff
The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the accomodation.
