Rowardennan is at the end of a road. It has access to Ben Lomond for hill walkers and is part of the West Highland Way route. Apart from that there is nothing there except the hotel and water sports from what we could see!

The location was stunning.
The location was stunning. The hostel was clean and well equipped. Plenty of parking and the staff were always really helpful. Would highly recommend staying at the hostel. Would definitely re visit. Perfect location for what we wanted as we it was our plan to climb Ben Lomond ~ once we climbed it, it was perfect as we got to cool down in the loch afterwards. The hostel has its own private beach area and a jetty to swim from

The views from every room, including the two conservatories were amazing. Our dog sat in the conservatory watching Sheep TV for hours. So happy it was dog friendly.
All of the amenities were modern and plentiful, especially the kitchen.
So stylish. Lots of hand made and interesting pieces around the villa. Gorgeous.

Hotel situated in a fabulous location overlooking the Loch...
Hotel situated in a fabulous location overlooking the Loch Lomand. Secluded and quiet - good for hiking & nature walks. Good water sport facilities by an outside company. The stand up paddle boarding was never available on the 2 occasions we wanted to do it. Ideally it would have been good if the hotel gave a discount and made arrangements for reservation options at the time of check in. Menu was unfortunately limited, but some of the food was good.

A beautiful location with a basic but clean hotel.
A beautiful location with a basic but clean hotel.
The staff were great and friendly . Food was nice but limited in choice, not great if you’re looking for a healthy meal. We were here for 2 nights so that wasn’t an issue.
The play area was ideal for our 3 year old with little cars and trikes available.
The range of water activities are good but book before you go by calling 03335770715 to avoid disappointment.

Accommodation was superb and the pub 100 yards away.
Accommodation was superb and the pub 100 yards away. The lodge is very near the start of the Ben Lomond path so we were able to start and finish at the lodge which was a major reason for booking this property.
We booked this primarily for the location, as we were doing a walking route and climbing Ben Lomond. But the hotel itself is worth the stay, excellent staff and lovely room (we even had a boot tray for our mucky walking shoes!). Had a great evening meal, views out to the loch and a hearty breakfast for more hiking the next day. Would recommend.
The location was fantastic, right on the loch with beach and jetty which the kids loved jumping off. The lodge beds were comfortable, it was spacious, dishwasher and washing machine were new as were the bathrooms. The staff from the hotel were great and sorted out any problems- and even gave us a complimentary meal which was great.
We stayed at this Lodge early in the year and this meant it was very quiet as we were looking for a total time out. This was a perfect place for that. A beautiful lodge where you can do as little or as much as you like. Fully equipped and the owner was very accommodating.
Nice and friendly staff. Good facilities in kitchen Just thought the 85 quid was a bit steep. Although I was in my own twin room it's not of hotel standard and that's probably the rate for a reasonable hotel room with your own bathroom etc.
A fantastic experience has been created at Blair Cottage with the host seemingly have thought of everything you might need. It was a hotel experience in a secluded cottage. Exceptionally clean and some lovely quirky features.
This lodge is amazing! It has everything you need. It was comfortable and clean. It has a real homely feel. The private beach and location was outstanding. We will definitely be returning at some point.
A good experience for a better price than other hotels in the general area.
I was surprised by how big my shower was - that was really pleasant.
The young man who checked me in was very helpful.
Cosy, warm, washing machine and tumble dryer, clean, lovely welcome bottle of wine, great location, great for kayaking, hotel next to it has a restaurant/tavern (make sure to book table as busy).
West highland way walk and stop over night.
Had booked breakfast in advance but hadn't pre-booked meal which was fault on our part as local hotel was very busy.
Personnel at hostel very helpful.
Couldn’t recommend Coal Gleann Lodge enough! Very cosy and clean place surrounded by amazing scenery. Will definitely think about coming back later on in the future.
