St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

St Austell itself is a busy industrial town but it is a good base for visiting many coastal fishing villages and nearby attractions such as Eden & Lost Gardens of Heligan. The interesting harbour village of Charlestown is a must see and Mevagissey is only 4 miles away.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

Ours was a short stay so spent most of the time travelling around the area including a boat trip to Falmouth. We enjoyed a 'eat as much as you like' chinese meal at the Water Margin restaurent in St Austell. The service and quality of menu was excellent. Recommended.

Lovely meal in the on site restaurant - best mussels ever. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help with anything. Breakfast was delicious and piping hot, great choice of cereals & juice. It’s on a great location near St Austell for touring Cornwall as I did on daily excursions. The hotel also has lodges that cater for larger groups but I was in the main hotel. The room was very comfortable and spacious with everything you need including a fridge, good selection of teas, biscuits etc and bath robes. The view was pleasant and it would be great to enjoy the large balcony during warmer months. Breakfast was excellent.

The food is exceptional The manager is friendly and goes out of his way to help. The room and bathroom were both bigger than most hotel rooms. The curtains ( my pet hate). Actually closed properly and were blackout They had a really good menu for evening meals in the pub/restaurant which are just downstairs so no messing about with walking out in the cold

The rooms are large and comfortable. The Breakfast is particularly good as the bacon and sausage seemed local. It was convenient for us that the hotel is also a pub as there were evening meals on site. It was standard pub food but cooked well so I would eat there again. We didn't get any noise from the pub as its in a different part of the building.

We loved the hotel for its good breakfast, simple but effective dinner options, and a lovely set of staff. In-house parking is near and very convenient. Hassle free check-in and check-out facilities. Strategically located to access key locations around Cornwall within a 30-50 min drive.
