I hadn't considered what to expect in Jersey but was pleasantly surprised.
The island is beautiful with a very laid-back feel to it.
St Helier is the perfect size to walk around with plenty of places to eat and drink, and nice quality shops. It has the feel of a nice country town.
Be aware that most restaurants close around 9.00pm so don't get caught out!
The bus from outside the airport took us straight to the town and it is easy to travel around the island from the bus station in St Helier. Helpful staff and a choice of bus tickets for longer stays.
We took an afternoon tour around the island which helped us decide which areas we wanted to visit again. We visited in spring so the blossoms were out, and Jersey has the most beautiful vast beaches.
Friendly and helpful people everywhere we went which added to the experience.

Average city, not very much to do here other than shopping, some pretty areas for photographing. Very disappointing choice of restaurants. Not the place to visit if you are remotely interested in food.

Great selection of restaurants.
Great selection of restaurants. We had superb meals at The White Horse, Roseville Bistro and Petisco Tradicional all within walking distance of our hotel. Not so impressed with cake at Pomme D'Or Cafe. Loved the cycle paths along the sea front and marked cycle routes out to the War Tunnels and Gorey Castle were excellent.

This could be a lovely place.
This could be a lovely place. We found almost everything in the area closed. Websites didn’t reflect museums, galleries being closed for staff training or just closed. I recommend checking by calling each place to be sure. Many shops closed down and restaurants close at 9pm. The only thing open to do was the cinema and bowling which was not signposted and hard to find plus feeling like a bowling alley from the 70’s. A number of places no longer exist, like arcades and attractions for kids. Overall it felt like stepping back to the 1980’s. If you want beaches and to eat then it’s lovely but therefore would only recommend in the summer months. People are very friendly and helpful.

Really big comfortable bed, plenty tea, coffee, milk and sugar to use. We were in room 34 which was a family room so a good size. If they changed the carpet from red to taupe, it would match the furniture and look much better. Decent shower and plenty of towels. Fabulous breakfast each morning before exploring the island. Bus stops right outside the hotel and once you get your bearings not that far to walk into the town centre. Beautiful beach across from the hotel also
Beautiful hotel, spacious and very clean!
Staff were lovely and accommodating.
The rooms are huge!
Bedroom, bathroom and a little chill out room to read or watch TV, have breakfast.
2 tvs, coffee/tea, mini fridge, iron, ironing board, trouser press, liquid, soap, conditioner, shampoo, body wash, fresh towels each day, lovely and warm.
Very close to town centre but you don't really hear the traffic noise.
Has a lift.

Hotel, bar and restaurant staff are excellent, very welcoming, efficient and very helpful. Our room, (although a pain to get to, up and down different staircases) was clean, spacious and well equipped/furnished. Food and drink was very good(but expensive, two gin and tonics £20), I would recommend eating here, breakfast however was a buffet, I'm not a fan. If I return to Jersey, I would not hesitate in staying here again.
We had a very nice stay. Very kind people. That counts for the those that clean the rooms, those that service the braekfast and especially the owners. They provided also a place too store our bikes. Really kind people. The room and bathroom is simple but sufficient. The hotel has a elevator. They provide a extensive continental breakfast. There is also a very nice public park in the vicinity.
The hotel / apart is basic but spotless - including linen & towels. The staff were lovely, ever so helpful. We didn’t use the bar but did take advantage of the balcony which we had with our room. Great value for money, a kitchenette with everything you would need but we didn’t use it apart from the kettle & toaster. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the town centre and the same to the sea front.
The hotel is very well placed with plenty of restaurants close by as are the harbour, bus station and shops. The basement swimming pool, spa and gym are lovely facilities and we had a great room overlooking the Jersey museum. Inside the room it was quiet and the balcony was in the sun until late afternoon with a view to the harbour. Breakfasts were very good as was the service
All the staff we so friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Special shout out to Hasim, who went above and beyond for us . Our evening meal was fantastic, I can see why so many locals and tourists alike dine with them for food . The hotel view from our room was amazing . Would 100% stay here again .
10 mins walk to town centre and across the road from the Lido. Also hotel parking Rooms were clean and although a shortage of staff ( due to Covid etc) they were very helpful. Once restrictions are lifted in the next few weeks I’m sure everything will be back to normal. Recommended.
Good location within easy reach of town centre and seafront. Although the hotel is older and slightly “ tired” it’s clean and well maintained. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Balcony area was ideal for relaxing with a drink in the evening and food is very good.
I usually stay at the Hotel de France during my trips to Jersey. It has a car park and is located in St Helier. The rooms are quiet and it's all very convenient. However, it's now pricing itself out of the market.
The hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier. It is a very warm and welcoming hotel with a lovely spa and salt water swimming pool, close to St Helier town centre.
