Not exactly a hive of activity! No shops around and only 3 pubs which all were mostly empty.. Nice if you want a quiet retreat to get away from it all and get back to nature but not for is who like busy.

Enough pubs to supply our needs, and the local beer was excellent. Perfectly situated for us, as we enjoy walking the locality. A few minutes down the road from Brecon and easy ride i to the city of Swansea.

On Fridays and Saturdays you have the benefit of a restaurant and bar. The rest of the week you need to get your drinks and food in the local village where there a three or four pubs with restaurants. The hotel and rooms are full of an eclectic collection of ephemera which are fun and quirky. The hosts were great and very helpful. We stayed in winter (October) and it rained all the time, but when the sun is out the outside grounds looked like they would be lovely

We visited Brecon and Builth Wells and found everyone we met was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day.
