Sidmouth was a beautiful little seaside town with plenty of places to eat and drink!
Dog friendly beach in winter and lots of dog-friendly pubs/cafes! Beach is shingle/large pebble so not for everyone, but there’s a promenade/path the whole way along!
Lots of nice little independent shops & charity shops!
Parking gets very busy so you’re better off parking in the ‘weekend and walk’ car park slightly outside town - not far at all!
We visited in February but I’ve been told is gets very busy from May onwards.
There is a folk festival on the first weekend of August every year which I hear is great (but very busy)!

There's nothing there but the countryside.
There's nothing there but the countryside. Great for a solo weekend trip, but probably 1 week was too long. Especially when the accommodation was disappointing.
And from London, I don't think it's worth the drive.

Lovely seaside town offering lots of cafes and restaurants.
Lovely seaside town offering lots of cafes and restaurants. You can walk to the shopping area with a good variety of shops including gift shops. Plenty of opportunities to buy ice cream too.
Very clean town and felt very safe.
Clean beach and easily accessible for all and easy to park.
Connaught Gardens are beautiful with lots of flowers, shrubs in various different areas to explore and plenty of seating. It also has a little cafe with outside seating. Overall a pretty little seaside town with lots of beach front hotels and facilities.
This is not my first visit to the Harbour in Sidmouth we've friends locally. I always have a lovely stay rooms are very comfortable the breakfast is lovely and the setting is excellent. The only downside is that you don't redeem parking anymore which means if you get a parking space and head out quite often there are weddings which means the hotel parking fills up again which when you're staying isn't great.
Huge room, lovely decor, very comfy bed. Appreciated the home made cookies and Nespresso maker.
Huge shower room/ wet room. Good shower. Very nice shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand cream; all for sale in reception.
Great cooked breakfast included.
Really good Sunday roast in the pub restaurant, and no need to book as guests of the hotel.
Great location in middle of Sidmouth with views out towards the seafront. It’s set back a little from the frontline hotels with nice outdoor terrace. Nice large room with double and bay window but rather uncomfortable bed and pillows made for a difficult night. Lovely staff and easy check in / check out procedure. Decent breakfast in room rate.
Ideally situated, for us, for a stay in Sidmouth. Hotel was a short walk from town .
Lovely room, spacious and clean with comfortable bed.
Staff were really nice , friendly and helpful .
Very good choice at breakfast and cooked breakfast was excellent . We also had an evening meal which was very good and good value for money .
An exceptional boutique-style hotel in a leafy setting on the outskirts of Sidmouth's quaint town centre. The hotel represented good value for money and provided accommodation of the highest calibre. The cooked breakfast was delightful and there was always an offer of further helpings and coffee top-ups.
Sue made us feel very welcome. the room was spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast each day was exceptional. The location of Buckley Farmhouse is two miles outside of Sidmouth and therefore you are staying in very quiet countryside, no passing traffic or street lighting to keep you awake.
The hotel was fantastic, we were very warmly greeted and nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly staff. The evening dinner was extremely worth the price of £29 per head for three huge courses. A short walk to Sidmouth town and sea front also meant it was perfectly situated
Right on the seafront and our room 102 had a covered balcony looking over the road at the beach. Free parking on site if you are early enough and the beautiful town of Sidmouth is literally on the doorstep as you come out of the hotel steps
The location is really nice and it has a sea view, also the night sky was amazing, you could see all the stars on a clear night. Also loved that the property is dog friendly and it's close to the donkey sanctuary.
We had a wonderful corner room with a balcony. It had windows on one side and glass doors opening to the balcony on the other. The views were amazing. The hotel is perfectly situated on the promenade.
Room was warm, clean and quiet, and the shower was easy to operate. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and breakfast was excellent. We will use this guest house again when we're in Sidmouth.
Lovely clean and well located hotel in the centre of Sidmouth, can walk to all town centre locations and the beach. Staff were excellent and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again.
Dan and Megan where the perfect hosts, excellent breakfast cooked by Dan with their own chicken eggs. This is definately a hotel I would return to time and time again
