We experienced Somerton in the late afternoon and early Evening. We were looking for a new house but not to our liking. Quaint town with a central Buttercross. Good pub grub at the Globe. Town felt safe.

Pretty little town with history dating back to the middle ages . There is a pretty market square with a Buttercross which was built in the 1600s. The townhall houses local art work by local artists . There are plenty of cafes with outdoor seating , and independent shops selling local crafts along with a supermarket ,excellent bakery and fish and chip shop .

Great little town with good independent shops and several good pubs. It's not massive but it's a great place, with independent butchers, grocery stores, gift stores, hardware store and plenty of places to eat.

Somerton is a lovely little picturesque village with quaint little shops, art galleries, an antique shop and lovely pubs. It was also the old capital of Wessex. We ate at The Unicorn and The Globe where the food and service was excellent - check out the reviews on Tripadvisor! There is a bus service that can take you to neighbouring towns, if you don't have your own transport. We liked Somerton because there was barely any traffic travelling through and the stone buildings are lovely.

Property is in a small hamlet called East Lydford near Somerton which we didn't visit. Very pleasant rural scenery in area. with plenty of lovely walks. Many local attractions within 30 to 45 minutes by car; eg Cheddar Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury, Ebbor Gorge.

I only visited Somerton once and would like to go back.

I only visited Somerton once and would like to go back. It was a quiet town and I easily found on-street parking. I had some delicious ice cream from the market bakery and sat at an outdoor table looking at the lovely historic buildings. The other customers there at the same time were all cyclists touring the area.

We chose to stay at this property because of its proximity to Somerton as we were visiting friends there. We also liked the place because it was quiet and peaceful despite being quite close to the a main road leading to places such as Glastonbury. We actually stayed in The Coop, not The Nest as the latter wasn't available during our stay. The Coop was sufficiently equipped for what we needed. It was clean and there was definitely plenty of storage, if required. We would definitely come back to stay again in the future.

We were met by the host, Jan who was very welcoming and pleasant as was her husband, Paul and the dog, Sammy who we met later. The accommodation is perfect, well furnished and equipped, very clean, quiet neighborhood, easy parking and in a great location for exploring the delights of Somerset and surrounds. We just loved everything about it so would certainly recommend it. We self cater so cannot comment about the local pubs but we are sure they can also be recommended.

The converted cow stall accommodation is of a very high quality . Everything had been thought of, with extras like fresh flowers, chocolates, fruit. The kitchen was excellent, with a large selection of equipment and appliances. Private garden, with seating and BBQ. Good wi fi. Spacious lounge, with comfy seating. Good bedroom. Easy parking. Sensible recycling policy. Lovely hostess. Somerton, about 6 miles away, is a pretty little town, with most services

Fabulous hotel/pub in heart of lovely old Somerset town. Helpful, attentive and friendly staff. Comfortable and airy bedroom, with super bed and spotlessly clean bathroom. Superb dinner cooked with great originality and flair, Nothing and excellent breakfast made for a great one night stopover Wished we could have stayed for longer. Definitely will next time. The White Hart ticks all the boxes and comes comes highly recommended.

Beautiful spacious apartment with every comfort and thoughtful extra touches in the bathroom and welcome goodies in the kitchen on arrival. Lovely views from the windows. I was made to feel so welcome and was reassured that if there was anything else I needed, I only needed to say. Super location, with easy parking, and Somerton itself just a few minutes walk away.

The house is beautiful, the environment relaxing and such a warm welcome from the manager! My room was extremely spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. It was very convenient for me to be so close to the centre of Somerton and yet quietly tucked away. It was lovely to have a walk around the grounds. I will return - and thank you!
