Location was all that we liked . Breakfast was in a bag placed in the room the day before. The refurbishment of the breakfast area has taken well over 12 months , as it was like that last time we stayed .

We had an early morning flight back to Malta and decided to travel to Liverpool Airport the night before so that we could at least get 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep before the flight. This was achieved in great warmth and comfort in a very cosy self-catering annex on the ground floor at Gateway Lodge. Our host, June, could not have been more helpful and obliging in selecting our room. We were able to walk to the airport in around 15 minutes the next morning, arriving fresh and unflustered after our sleep. The private annex had everything we required, including a very comfortable bed, a modern bathroom (with a Shower unit), a well-equipped kitchen and a restful lounge area (with multi-channel TV). The bus stops to and from the airport and Liverpool City centre are located 4 mins from the accommodation.

The location is perfect and the house itself feels homey. The host was very accommodating and responds to my queries quickly. I will definitely stay here again if I’m in Liverpool again.

The hosts Dave and his wife were extremely helpful and went the extra mile to help us out with a problem that we uncounted. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and is situated in a lovely peaceful location. The staff were also very friendly and helpful and have obviously been trained to a high standard. Excellent stay and we will be returning. Highly recommended.
