The landlady was extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, felt very at home. The food was delicious and the house was immaculate.

This location was brimming with history and elegance. It was very old world and the staff treated us like royalty. The staff carried our suitcases, gave us advice about buses and opened doors for us. There is a tiny butlers lift which saved going up all the stairs. The view was lovely and the room and bathroom was luxurious. Lovely touches like a pod coffee machine in the room, big fluffy towels, comfy bed, and a top sheet. The breakfast choice was amazing and it was lovely to have fresh fruit as well. The parlour room that all guests could use was filled with beautiful things and was very fancy.

Room was spacious, clean and bed was comfortable.
Really enjoyed the area and location surrounding the Hotel. It’s very close to York (15 mins) drive but far enough away you’re in the beautiful countryside.
The spa was amazing and had food from the onsite pub which was lovely.
Would highly recommend and stay again
A quiet place within 20 minutes of York. If you enjoy peace & quiet and are happy to drive to where you need to go - taxis are expensive with the out of town charge - then this is definitely a place worth considering.
