Hotel Colessio, hotel in Stirling

Found in an original Victorian building and renovated to 21st century standards, Hotel Colessio is an opulent addition to the centre of Stirling.

The hotel absolutely exceeded our expectations. We even ended up extending our stay for two extra nights. The room was huge (we booked a deluxe king bedroom), with a super comfy king bed and a big bathroom with all amenities. The breakfast was a full Scottish (self-serve) breakfast with tons of options. The staff were amazing and incredibly attentive! They helped my boyfriend set up a birthday surprise for me and were incredibly accommodating when we wanted to extend our stay. We will be visiting again without a doubt.

Most shocking experience of any holiday when we were unable to access accommodation we paid for through Booking.com. Don’t use Booking.com. They did not help us and we had to find and pay for alternative accommodation.

    Stirling is a lovely area.

Stirling is a lovely area. The castle is really interesting but there is a lot of walking on cobbles. We are getting on a bit so found it a bit uphill and down dale but well worth a visit. 20 minutes drive from Stirling are The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. The Kelpies are amazing and if you book a tour they take you inside, a must for any engineer. Falkirk Wheel is more interesting watching from outside but is an absolute master in engineering. Stirling town centre had a lovely shopping Mal we just found it busy and difficult to park.

Stirling is my home town, but I have lived in the Highlands for many years now and always enjoy returning. I cannot see it through the eyes of a stranger, but I am proud of what it has to offer. You are literally walking through history on the streets of the upper town below the castle. Climb the Wallace monument and enjoy views from Edinburgh in the east to Argyll in the west. Play golf on one of the finest courses in Scotland with lovely views over the Carse. I could go on. Stirling is a must-see for visitors to Scotland.

Great location in the centre of Scotland. Stirling castle, battle of bannockburn and the Wallace monument are just 3 of the historical sights close by. Kings park gold course is lovely to walk around offering glorious views across the castle. Lovely farm shops with cafes close by. The gateway to the highlands for those wanting to see more.

I booked with Springfields lodge as the hotel I originally booked with cancelled our booking. I was fortunate to come across springfield Lodge which was nearer to where our family lived. The location was perfect with Wallace monument less than a mile away and the city centre of Stirling approximately 2 miles away with the historic Stirling Castle to explore. Both Kevin and Kim were the perfect host, very friendly making sure our stay with them was relaxing, and sharing their local knowledge of where to visit or dine out.

Castlecroft has an excellent location with a pleasant walk into the city centre and easy access to the castle. It is close to the main routes into Stirling and easy to find. Laura is a really charming and helpful host. She serves a terrific breakfast with good choice. Her recommendations for places to eat were appreciated. We had our own small patio outside- a lovely feature Parking at the B&B is straightforward and really useful. Soundproofing between rooms was excellent- it was very quiet.

Large, very nice room with private bathroom. Excellent restaurant downstairs. Staff were very helpful providing directions and advice on train service to my next destination. Stirling is a lovely city with so much history to see: The hilltop castle, William Wallace Monument, Bannock Burn Battlefield, etc. The city was described to me as a smaller version of Edinburgh, which it is.

The room was clean with modern decor and was very well appointed. The breakfast was cooked to order and abundant. The owners were friendly and informative. The B&B was close to Stirling activities and when we looked out our room window we could see the William Wallace Monument. This property was my favorite lodging in Scotland.

Excellent, very clean apartment in location close to centre. Very impressed with the modern bathroom and kitchen and all the little extras. Also impressed with the large screen TV compared with the tiny TV we had in a hotel on last visit to Stirling - well worth the extra money paid compared to that hotel room.

The setting is fantastic, perfectly central to plan a tour of Scotland! A big kitchen and plenty of living space means you feel at home, rather than a hotel/hostel. Keys were easy to locate, communication with the hosts was excellent, very clear and helpful.

I was going to a work night out so just wanted a cheap bed for the night. I was delighted to get a room for £45. That is very cheap for a city centre hotel, so I wasn't expecting a big room, but it was perfect for my needs.
