I had not been to Swanage for almost 50 years and I enjoyed it then, and I enjoyed it even more today. The atmosphere of the town is quintessentially British seaside but it has also moved with the times. The beach, the cliff walks and the heritage railway were three of our favourite things we did during our visit.
Great scenery. We’re given a list of places to eat which was very helpful.good restaurants and eateries. Great public transport with stops close to the guesthouse and close to the beach and town. Need to know it is quite hilly if you have problems walking. Good independent shops.
Swange is lovely little seaside town. You can get to lots of different locations from here, Poole, Sandbanks, Wimborne Minster Wareham,. To name a few of the other towns worth a visit. We also enjoyed NT properties, White Mill and Kingston Lacey.
I found Swange busy but not noisy even with a steam train event on. Some pleaseant walks both inland and by the sea to be had. Good eating out and some nice pubs to be found. The local area had interesting architecture and history. Plenty to visit within a short drive. There is a good bus service and the local steam railway will take you to mainline Wareham.
Some excellent restaurants and pubs. The Masala Indian and Salt Pig Too were both excellent and good value. The Italian Bakery was excellent for breakfast. There is also a Friday Market, which is worth a visit. The Steam Railway also looked interesting. Corfe Castle (nearby), Durlston Country Park and Harry's Rocks all stunning and worth a visit.
Loved Swanage.... it's a delightful little seaside town with a magical timeless quality. Lovely pubs, independent shops and great architecture. The seafront and beach is gorgeous and the views amazing. All in all it's such a wonderful place.
Room very comfortable with good facilities e.g. clean, spacious bathroom, tea/coffee making facility, and view across Swanage Bay. Breakfast in consevatory with table service which I actually preferred to the pre-Covid buffet. Full range of cereals or fruit and cooked options. Staff very friendly and helpful. All this plus an exellent location just on the dge of the main town centre. So only 5 minutes walk to the centre and beach.

Super lovely accommodation. The family room had everything we needed as a family of four with two young children. The room had books and DVDs to keep them busy whilst it rained outside. Fridge and dining table in the room too, which helped make life easier. Plenty of space in a lovely sea side decor room. Short walk to the beach and town. Would definitely stay again!
Swanage
Wonderful hosts, the room was well furnished and very clean, great facilities eg. tea tray, biscuits, hairdryer. Spacious en suite. Breakfast served in the room was excellent, cooked to perfection and quality ingredients and dinnerware. I would definitely recommend a visit. Really well located for easy access to Swanage Hight Street and beach/pier.

Good welcome and staff checked everything was ok on a number of occasions. Great for kids and great camping memories Made. Beds, bench and fire pit (Including logs) provided made camping easy. Great location and able to walk to Swanage beach a bonus. Short drive to Studland (and Bournemouth and Poole beaches) and great location to explore beautiful Dorset.
Swanage
Great welcome from the host. Lovely large and airy house and our room (1) had large windows letting in lots of light. Breakfast was superb and generous - very hot cooked to order! Location was fine - out of Swanage centre but a pleasant walk along the beachfront to get to the town's facilities. Quiet with no traffic noise at night.
The ambience of the hotel was very relaxed & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, room clean & comfortable. Lovely bathroom & had space to put your toilet bag in there. The safety of the guests was forefront & adherence to covid was in place without making it regimented.
First visit to Swanage and the Grand Hotel and we’ll be back. Stunning views over the bay. Lovely sized room with a little balcony. Very clean and fresh feeling. Good food. Friendly staff and service with a smile. Good gym and sauna plus a little pool that is great for kids.
Swanage
It is a very spacious apartment and has all the facilities you could need. A very thoughtful addition is the owner left wine, cider and chocolate biscuits as well as cereals and tea bags. The beach is within walking distance and Swanage is a lovely family seaside.

Loved the location, a short walk away from Swanage beach. The cottage is very roomy with some superb bathrooms and bedrooms. The garden was lovely for relaxing in the evening when the sun was shining. The whole family enjoyed the stay.
The flat is gorgeous, very comfortable and in a perfect location- so close to the beach! Check-in & check-out couldn't have been easier and the host is helpful & friendly. We are already thinking of returning!
