We managed to book not long before we arrived and we chose it because of the late check in. It was great that the pub was able to accommodate us at such short notice. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was really good.

All staff were really friendly including the locals in the bar. Our room was in the new annex and couldn't fault it, very clean, comfy and quiet. The bar area was very cosy with a great choice and a lot cheaper than down south. Evening meal was really nice with a good range to choose from. Breakfast was lovely and all cooked to order. All in all the Masons is a great place to stop over and will use again when in the area.

Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. Location is superb.
We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.
Beautiful location, garden was lovely. House was an amazing warren of interesting rooms for the kids to explore. Lots of sofas for lounging about in the evening. The kitchen was big enough to cook big dinners for everyone and sit down at the big kitchen table to eat. Lovely views from all the windows. Nice little pub just along the road in Swinton with a beer garden.
The location was well placed for our activities being just a few miles from places of interest. The room was in the annexe and was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and obliging and the food excellent with good variety of menu items for breakfast and dinner and was all freshly home made. Very happy with our choice of hotel.
Excellent hotel...a real find in a quiet rural village. Dinner and breakfast were very good and the breakfast especially very well presented with perfect fried eggs! The staff were welcoming and obliging. Our room was comfortable and elegantly furnished. Covid compliance was very good.
An absolutely superb hotel for a holiday. Exceptionally friendly welcome, and shown to a nice big room with a comfy bed and a couple of easy chairs. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant - both were superb. Service was excellent throughout.
fantastic breakfast, very friendly staff, I used this hotel as a base to sightsee and visit Scotland, borders and Northumberland. Very good place for the foodies to enjoy - the meals were superb.
very good location to get around the Scottish Borders. pretty spot in front of the green.
good parking, never had any issues parking in front of the hotel.
Very welcoming staff, made life very easy for us and our two dogs so we felt very relaxed. Food also very good and would certainly recommend the hotel.
