Lovely hotel with a fantastic countryside view from the car park, larger than it looks from the outside too. The room was comfortable with a modern bathroom. The service was good for Dinner we sat in the courtyard which is a lovely sun trap and the portion size was great value for money and the food delicious. Breakfast staff were attentive although we were advised that breakfast was from 7:30am on Sunday morning by our Dinner waitor, it was actually 8am so we did have to wait a while but were given coffee whilst waiting.

Rooms were traditional with a modern bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, with fresh milk available in the small fridge. Staff were really friendly, went through everything thoroughly, couldn't be more helpful. Had a nice breakfast in the morning downstairs in the restaurant. Even if you aren't stopping at the hotel, the restaurant is worth visiting - food was really good quality.

The rooms were very clean and bed comfortable. English breakfast was freshly served from kitchen & continental breakfast was self service. We had a very nice evening meal and the proximity of the hotel was ideal for next day visit to Chatsworth House. Location of hotel was rural with plenty of parking. Would highly recommend.

Was nervous about staying here following some of the reviews. Yes decor is random. Yes the room is very small but you know that when booking. Whilst there is a lot that could be done and quite cheaply to improve it by the end of my stay I got quite fond of the the place in a blizzar way.
No complaints about the pub restaurant it was really good.
