Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Tavistock House Hotel offers accommodation in Tavistock. Every room comes with a flat-screen TV. Certain units have a seating area for your convenience.

Service was top notch from the off. I was greeted at the door following parking. Breakfast was easy to book. Recommendations were given for food and I was extremely grateful for this as the pub I visited was incredible. Rooms are spotless and breakfast set me up for the day. Don't be put off by not having a cooked breakfast. Fruit and coffee was exceptional. Everything was spot on. Very quiet and Brad was very sociable when it mattered. The room and hotel itself is spotless and maintained to a very high standard. I was worried about parking but there was plenty of spaces. Didn't need car charging but it was offered to me and available.

The Horn Of Plenty, hotel in Tavistock

With breathtaking views over the Tamar Valley, the Horn of Plenty offers an award-winning restaurant and elegant, luxurious accommodation in 5 acres of spectacular gardens.

Everything bar the owner, Jeremy. SO Bloody Rude and overstepped my personal boundaries by touching me on my arm without my permission to do so! INNAPPROPRIATE to say the least. He also withheld my refund as requested by my goodself because of the term and conditions laid out in the contract between himself, booking.com and myself. I paid £220 for one night stay at The Horn of Plenty near Tavistock. It is Amazing, however the owner, Jeremy leaves a lot less to be desired. Maybe, dear old Jeremy has to take early retirement and hand the keys to somebody more fitting to such an establishment, maybe the under manager or the Head Chef. Respect to both of them. Hope to meet you one day. It would be an honor for us all to partake at the HoP!

Maybe more clothes shops not much choice at this time.

Maybe more clothes shops not much choice at this time. Cafes are lovely lots of choice and variety of foods. The church lane cafe is amazing good food and excellent service. The market doesn’t appear as busy on my recent visits.

An ideal size - could all be done on foot but with enough dining and drinking choices. Handsome architecture of local stone and granite. We recommend the Pannier Market (historic, with interesting stalls including unusually good second-hand books, and all under cover). The church, formerly adjacent to a monastery (of which a few traces remain) has a stained glass window by William Morris and Burne-Jones.

I live close to the center of Tavistock and was on a trip while I sorted things at home. Sometimes it is good to detach from the absolute familiar. Tavistock is a quiet, dreamy place in the main but has some night life centering around restaurants and take aways . The remaining public houses generally provide a warm welcome with a range of facilities across the board. Shopping: a good range of supermarkets, independent stores and franchises. Leisure pursuits are various in and around the town. It remains a satellite to The City of Plymouth however, with an other worldly quality. Not a suburb. Any recommendations would be biased.

Good Market town with lots of little shops but like most town starting to show signs of a down turn, has some free no street parking which is good but the council are planning to install parking meters which will kill the high street.

Tavistock is a mysterious Dartmoor Market town, with people from all walks of life making the most of its rural and ancient history. There are many places to eat and drink, quirky and interesting. The indoor market was voted the best in its class several years ago. I beleive it's even better now, with modern accessible toilets. There is a really good Weatherspoons large and quirky in places where you can relax for hours with very affordabel ales.......................Or coffee, freee refills. Besides other eateries including the historic Church which serves coffee and cake on certain days. The Church has become a main hub for visitors encouraging a friendly community spirit for all those who value trust, honesty and friendship. Some of the locals tell a very good tale or two!!

Our room was quiet, very clean, and nicely decorated. Like the rest of the Tavistock Hotel it had been refurbished tastefully recently . The Landlord Mark was very welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. We did not eat at the Hotel as we were visiting relatives locally. You can park legally outside in a loading bay between 6pm and 8am and move your car into the Pay and Display Co-Op car park next-door to the Hotel in the morning. We will stay at the Tavistock Hotel and Inn when we next visit Tavistock. Recommend!

I highly recommend this beautiful guest house to anyone visiting the area. The owner couldn't have been any nicer when I arrived, spending time showing me around and explaining where everything was. The location is right in the heart of Tavistock. So everything is all within a short walking distance. The room was lovely with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Everything was exceptionally well presented with high standards of cleanliness. I really couldn't recommend One Drake Road highly enough.

Superb location right next to the fast-flowing River Tavy where apparently you can see both otters and kingfisher. Slight drawback with location is fairly busy road outside which means driving onto and reversing from parking spaces can be tricky. The landlord Paul and his wife Carla were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast in the conservatory was superb; all products locally sourced, eggs done to perfection on soft white bread and fabulous coffee. Would make a return visit.

Beautiful hotel with a cosy, warm feel to it. Extremely friendly and welcoming owners. We were attending a wedding and I had rang ahead to explain we would be arriving earlier. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room ready for us when we arrived 3 hours early than check in time which eased a lot of stress for us. The room was clean, beautiful and very comfortable. Excellent location in the centre of Tavistock. We would happily stay again!

It was a delight to stay in a hotel oozing in nostalgia, ok the bathroom could do with a refresh, but apart from that everything was spotlessly clean, the staff were bright and helpful, the breakfast was just the right amount of food. SO pleased I would definitely stay there again far better than some of newer hotels I have stayed in lately. Good job Bedford hotel 👍👍

This characterful property is located within a few minutes walk of all Tavistock has to offer. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable with fantastic facilities for our group of three female friends enjoying a short break. Excellent communication with the host before, during and at the end of our stay. Highly recommended for a stay in delightful Tavistock.

Having stayed in many hotels and Airbnb, Apple Tree exceeded expectations for value for money. There are many little extras included - shower and shampoo toiletries, soft towels, a generous supply of hand and body lotion and a choice of firm or soft pillows, often a challenge even in upmarket hotels. On-demand heating and room service if you need it.

Manager was very good , helpful, friendly and seemed to be hands on ,mucking in when he had a busy night in the restaurant with all new staff and his grill in the kitchen had broken down. A lovely old hotel with lots of quirky areas, rooms a good standard , comfy beds, nice feel about the place. Evening meal was good standard.

I had the most wonderful stay and Eddy was an amazing host. The place exceeded all my expectations and the facilities as well as being a central location in the town was comfortable and very quiet and relaxing. If you are visiting Tavistock and the surrounding area (including Plymouth) then this is the place to stay.

The cottage is close to Tavistock and we walked into town on several occasions, which was very convenient. The lounge is comfortable although the TV is very small for the size of the room. The kitchen is well equipped although we did not do a lot of cooking as we have family in the area. The bed was comfortable.

Great place to stay, though not recommended if you have mobility issues. The Lily Pad is spotlessly clean and has everything stated, including plenty of breafast materials! John is a friendly host. Tavistock is a superb location for travelling to many parts of Devon and Cornwall. Highly recommended.
