Location and internal space. Meal service a little ad-hoc but self serve breakfast was excellent.

What more could we ask for at the price that is being charged for a bank holiday weekend?!
Dog friendly? Yes.
Welcoming and friendly owners and staff. Yes!
Great food. Even bigger yes! (You must have the mixed grill if it is on!)
We took our Husky X (Juke) and could not fault our stay. Yes there are a few issues here and there, but none that affect your stay in the slightest (if you have realistic expectations of an aged building - yes, the stairs creak; yes, the water takes time to heat up, but i'm sure we all have bigger stresses in life)! You get what you pay for and more at The Shady Oak; just remember, you're not staying at the Ritz! If you have an issue, let them know, they'll sort it so you don't have to.
We will be back!
