Service was brilliant. Also, food top notch. Nice to be in a family owned hotel for once and not a chain.

The room was a great size with a very comfortable bed, extremely clean and a beautiful, very functional bathroom. Breakfast was served personally with wonderful service and a great choice of hot and cold food. Host was extremely friendly and helpful ensuring we had everything we need for our stay as well as recommendations for dinner in town. Dinner venues were in walking distance of the accommodation.

Great location in Penrith - easy walk to pubs nearby
Good that there is a private car park
Room was probably most spacious we’ve had (stayed in 2 B&Bs in Penrith already) and was very clean, had lots of storage space, TV, tea and coffee and bathroom was good size too.
Breakfast was lovely and Alison changed it to suit me (sorry I’m awkward 🤣) - took out anything I didn’t like as I’m a picky eater. Veggie options and nice scrambled eggs always a plus!

Temple Sowerby was a lovely quiet village with great views of the Pennines. Dog walk to a local National Trust property was easy to find. Lovely pub, The King’s Arms just along the road from where we stayed served lovely evening meals too.

Temple Sowerby is great walking territory and very handy for Penrith where there were many tempting places to eat. Dining at The King's Arms however was a good decision and we especially enjoyed the breakfast.

A very old, unusual village with a maypole that was about 40 foot high. A pleasant area to walk around. It was very easy to travel to other ares. Acorn House a NT property was close by with interesting gardens. The Kings Arms served excellent food.

A very pleasant place to stay .
A very pleasant place to stay .Staff are friendly pleasant and helpful.Food was excellant. Only thing to let the village down was the great lack of a village shop, not only for the locals ,passing trade, and guests of both inns in the village. I think it could be a goldmine and would add considerably to enhance a stay in Temple Sowerby.

The location is in a quiet village on the edge of the lakes...
The location is in a quiet village on the edge of the lakes and if you want you can easily drive there as the main road in to the lakes is 5 minutes drive.
But if you want to stop local there is footpaths in all directions and we would if stopped longer would have explored.
The main plus for us was that in the future and more time it would be a great area to explore more and relax in if you want.
This is a wonderful small hotel in a beautiful location. Lovely comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated with every possible amenity. The manager, a delightful Polish lady, did everything to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Dinner was outstanding (her home made cheese-cake is to die for!) and breakfast was equally good. This was the last night of a two week holiday in the Lake District and Scotland and could not have been better - easily the best accommodation of the trip (and by no means the most expensive.) Simply outstanding.
A small hotel/pub in a quiet village off the A66, this made a good stop for us on the way back from Scotland, but could easily be a base for a longer stay (they seem to specialise in fishing packages).
The staff were friendly. Dinner and breakfast were good, with a good range of choice (will cook a fish if you catch one). The room was cosy and comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent.
Felt very welcomed and at home in the hotel.
Very comfy bed, very quiet night. Lovely village to explore and very close in fact walking distance to the Acorn House National Trust property and gardens , well worth a visit.
When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young lady, I think her name was Lorraine. All the staff were excellent. We had an evening meal and breakfast, both were very good. We would definately stay in this hotel again.
Location was perfect in the centre of the village and near Acorn Bank NT property. The breakfast was wonderful--lovely fruit and yoghurt plus really good cooked food.
Cafe for tea at the backof the hotel was excellent too--great scones.
I know the King's Arms very well from a previous trip so I know the staff and I would always be happy to stay here. An exceptional hotel run by exceptional people. Food always to a high standard. Room clean, tidy and spacious.
We had a very enjoyable stay along with our small dog & were made very welcome. All staff were extremely friendly & helpful.
Food was delicious. We will certainly recommend the Kings Arms at Temple Sowerby.
Fabulous location, the hotel room was large, very comfortable and quiet. Dog friendly and all the staff were very good around our bouncy Springer Spaniel. The food was very good. Excellent hotel.
