Good breakfast with great service, evening bar menu very good and not expensive. The location is fantastic for walking, with forest routes anywhere from 1 to 10 miles. The beds are large and very comfortable, with big airy rooms. Above all the staff are great.
With free on-site parking and full Scottish breakfast included, the Caledonian Hotel is just a 10 minute stroll to Dumfries centre.

I stayed 2 nights and can't fault anything. Central to all amenities. Room was very warm and had tea coffee water ect in rooms. Breakfast lots to choose from excellent. I will definitely be back.

Immaculately clean good decor traditional but not fusty. Good rooms public areas obviously recently renovated. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice bar area. Good suppers in restaurant.
