I would just like to say a very big thank you for our stay last night. The hut and location is absolutely stunning with a very high spec. Everything has been thought. Beautiful flowers, cake and Prosecco awaited us. The hut also smelt wonderful. Plenty of logs for the outside fire too. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Prior to our stay we sent over some enquiries and received very prompt and friendly replies with helpful information (follow Ray & Anne's advice about satnav directions).
The cottage is set in a tranquil location, easy to find, with parking on site. We were greeted by Ray who showed us where we would have breakfast the following day, and then to our room which overlooked woodland from the side window and the wooded bank and treehouses to the rear, with bird feeder hung over the Juliet balcony.
We were going out again to meet family, and were given the front door key for access later that evening.
The room was comfortable, clean, and peaceful, with great facilities including a kettle, large mugs, cafetiere and fresh coffee, plus instant coffee, a variety of tea, and biscuits, plus fresh milk in the fridge on the landing. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, though the bed was a little creaky : /
In the cosy breakfast room there was a lovely woodburner. Ray provided a superb breakfast, absolutely delicious, with more than we could eat which set us up for the day ahead.
We would highly recommend Kingsley Cottage, a wonderful place to stay.

My wife and I both loved the nature - like setting, with various animals freely roaming around the lawn and view of the lake and surrounding trees. The lake is also fantastic for fishing, especially for Carp, I had the best time ever. With only four lodges, of which ours was very clean, modern and comfortably furnished, and a small camping pitch, the whole site was very peaceful, which was just what we needed for a very relaxing week, and the owners were very friendly and always on hand if ever needed without being intrusive. A lovely place and ideal for our visit to rural Devon and Cornwall.

We stayed at Thornbury Holiday Park (excellent) and food was very good. Also had a meal at the Rydon Hotel which was also good. Holsworthy was the nearest town, with a couple of pubs, several shops and cafes. We had a couple of cream teas which were lovely. Not a lot to do in Thornbury so we drove to Bude (Cornwall) several miles away, but it was a lovely drive along good roads. The town of Bude is lovely, with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. Also a few lovely beaches. I have a broken leg at the moment, so we went to Widemouth Bay beach where there was a ramp down to the beach for my wheelchair. It was easy for me to walk with my splint boot to sit on the beach on the camping chairs we brought with us. We were very lucky as the sun shined during the whole of our stay. There were several people in the sea including children watched over by lots of Lifeguards, so very safe for Families.
