Hotel position and friendly staff were good, but the online description of the hotel and facilities was not accurate. Very disappointing. - room not serviced for three days - initial room smelly and mouldy - had to ask for soap and toilet paper - advertised food items for breakfast not provided - bath leaked - no phone in room

Some of the best place to eat in UK.

Some of the best place to eat in UK. Outdoors is its selling point, if King Charles III has a holiday retreat nearby it must be the best in the World. Winter nights are dark and cold with limited night life.

We used Thurso as a jumping off and landing point for the Orkney islands. I wish we had more time in the Thurso area as I believe there is much more to explore. And don't miss the Sri Lankan restaurant in town!! your dinner may take awhile but that's because it is being cooked up fresh.

Thurso is a town that has seen better days, but most people are going to Thurso to visit John O Groats or to catch a ferry, rather than for the town itself. We stayed out of season so did not visit the beach. We enjoyed our walk to Dunnet Head, and spent our 2nd day visiting John O Groats and Wick. We recommend the Thurso Visitor centre / Museum (free entry, but donatiion requested)

The house is rather dark and drab.

The house is rather dark and drab. The pictures make it look much lighter. It was good for one night. It can be difficult to find somewhere which allows just one night. There was food in the freezer, and sheets in the dryer when we arrived. That was a bit odd. Otherwise, a good location, easy to find. Fine for one night.

We were driving the North Coast 500 and found this wonderful modern BnB just outside Thurso. Antoinette, our hostess, was friendly and very helpful with suggestions on where to eat dinner. Views from here were beautiful and the added bonus is that they have a half dozen highland cows. Apple (a highland cow) and a recent mom to Wee Hamish was in the pasture right next to the house. We would go back here in a heartbeat

This is a beautiful house, well decorated and cozy. - The friendliness and cheerfulness of our host was outstanding - Big plus was a fridge in our room - The room was clean, there was enough room to put our bags and sit - The breakfast was very tasty - Hotel with a bar and restaurant is literally next door - High performing central heating - Close to Thurso and about 15 mins to ferry terminal to Orkneys

Everyone at the hotel made us feel welcome and extra little touches in the rooms also ensured we were comfortable. Walking distance to the station. Great breakfast and dinner menu. The owners were very easy going, allowing us to leave luggage while we traveled to Orkney for a few days, and provided a comfy lounge to spend a few hours before our train.

Erna is a friendly, cheerful host who made us feel at home. The room was quiet and comfortable. Location is good with some good restaurants nearby. Our favourites were YNot and the Holburn Hotel. Thurso is a nice town and the main highlights such as the Castle of Mey, Dunnet Head and John O'Groats are not far away.

The Park Hotel was pleasant and comfortable, a good spot for our one-night layover prior to boarding the ferry for Orkney. The location was very convenient, easy to find, and away from the somewhat cramped center of town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfy, and neat.

Self-described rustic and restored hotel lives up to its description. Charmed. Owners are happy to offer suggestions and cook to order guests' meals. Great location: about a 5-minute walk from Thurso train station and about a 10-minute walk to the shoreline.

Area was comfortable and adequate for a bed for the night. Very cheap, so great value for money, its not terrible but no 10star resort. Pretty average. Clean but old looking. Parking was good, although hard to locate and un-supervised.
