We live just over the Devon border in Somerset and Tiverton...
We live just over the Devon border in Somerset and Tiverton is a good location to shop if you want to go to different supermarkets or the indoor market for local produce. We went for an event, held in the pannier market, which was full of stalls and good food and drinks vendors. It is easy to get around Tiverton and people are friendly and helpful. Fantastic Tiverton Museum and trips along the Grand Western Canal Country Park.

Nice spacious room especially as we had two dog sleeping crates. Very pet friendly. Breakfast hot food was disappointing often not warm enough and or dried out from being under lamps too long. Restaurant menu was a bit limited which meant we ate away from the hotel most days

We stayed in Tiverton as it was close to the wedding venue...
We stayed in Tiverton as it was close to the wedding venue that we were attending at Upton Barns. We arrived on a Wednesday evening hungry. We were informed of places to eat and where we could get a discount but unfortunately all the restaurants were closed. We ended up eating at the Wetherspoons across the road from the Bridge House guest house. It was ok. I took a stroll in the mornings along the river and up the high street. The locals were very friendly. Lots of cafes and a lovely man playing a saxaphone in the high street. We were booked to stay for 3 nights in Tiverton, but only stayed two as I spent the last day and night in the A & E department in Exeter. We would have loved to explore Tiverton more, but just didn't get the opportunity, being our stay was short. My sister lives half an hour away from Tiverton, and I would like to re visit the town with her when I'm next down from London.
A little gem. After a very wet day in Tiverton we returned to the Inn earlier than planned and were welcomed by lovely staff and shown to our rooms. The rooms were large and comfortable with everything you might need. We had a delicious meal on the evening and a fantastic breakfast. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We would love to stay again. The Inn is ideal location for coming off the motorway and being central it’s a place you could use as a base for travelling.
Beautiful property located in a very peaceful area approx 6 miles from Tiverton. A cream tea greeted us on arrival, and the Linhay provided everything that you could possibly need for a self catering holiday including a state of the art hot tub which overlooks the rolling hills of mid Devon. Would definitely recommend. The house boasts modern decor, two high end ensuite bathrooms, a wonderful kitchen and washing facilities. Briony was a fab hostess and we had a relaxing break.
The location was brilliant and just a small stroll away from lovely restaurants & pubs. We were made to feel so welcome by Richard & Ling from the moment we arrived. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a great view over the river. The breakfasts were also absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely love to stay again and would recommend this place to everyone visiting Tiverton! Much nicer than standard hotels
It’s definitely the best home-hotel I’ve ever had during my traveling in the UK. The room is big and cozy and with all facilities I need. It’s close to the station too. I had to check out early so the hotel prepared me a big pack of breakfast.(I’m sorry I don’t know the gentleman’s name.) I really appreciate that…. Anyway, everything was perfect!!! It’s such a shame I just stayed there for one night,i hope I could go back Tiverton again:)
Lovely Inn staff very pleasant, obviously covid restrictions made it a little hard to socialise with people, but that is no fault of the manager. The food was nice although it could have had more choices for vegetarians. The bed was extremely comfortable in fact I would say one of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in. There is a lovely museum in Tiverton which is worth a visit. Booking is required due to covid restrictions.
Lovely castle/ stately home to stay in. An absolute joy to have found. Quirkier and much more interesting than any chain hotel. And who doesn't want to tell their friends they've stayed in a castle.
Nice comfy room. Plenty of space outdoors, do seek out the trampoline if you are staying with kids.
Not all rooms are in the actual castle but the lodges and cottages, that we stayed in, are just as interesting.
A lovely traditional farm with a purposely designed b&b area with just 2 nice size rooms which share an entrance into a handy lobby and breakfast room, all separate from the owners.
A yummy cooked breakfast with the farms own eggs plus lots of extras available made by the welcoming hosts. Comfy beds and lovely peaceful surroundings. Near to Tiverton but beautifully rural.
The property looks even better in person than in pictures. We visited late September and the surrounding area was beautiful. The beds were so comfortable and warm. The hosts were amazing, they were helpful, welcoming and the welcome gift was delicious! The property was clean and well stocked with everything we needed.
Access from the very close car park up the "back stairs" very handy. Nice shower. Good breakfast. Landlord very helpful. Close to Tesco. Great location for walking access to Tiverton and shops and restaurants - paper shop - chemist etc. Lanlords happy to put coffee on upon demand.
Amazing food and extremely friendly staff who really went out of their way to accommodate you. I really couldn't fault this hotel at all.
The beds are so comfortable and the grounds are lovely. We will definitely be going back here again!
Breakfast was plentiful and good. The location was excellent. Being able to wander through the castle buildings reading the history was fantastic. Close to the pleasant town of Tiverton, yet still in the quiet countryside.
Very friendly hosts. Allowed us to park our motornike securely at back of hotel. Slept well. Nice and quiet. Breakfast was fine. V central location for visiting Tiverton. V reasonable price.
Excellent room. Lovely host. Very clean. Very quiet.. I travel alot for work and this B+B is one of the nicest around...will definitely stay again if in the area...thanks..
