Great base for exploring Cornwall but not sure what it’s like in summer. We parked in the town with ease but we visited in November.
Masses of shops. It is the county town so is a magnet for shoppers.
Cathedral and Cornwall Museum worth a visit. Hall for Cornwall has a variety of shows.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasty shop for lunch.
Check roadworks though. A30 was closed intoTrurofor the whole weekend whilst work is going on building the new by pass. It took us ages to follow the detour.

I did want to explore the town a bit more, especially the cathedral, but this visit was to see a show and I had to return the next day.
I had a meal at an Italian restaurant literally up the road from the hotel, it was decent enough.

Truro is a lovely place to visit.
Truro is a lovely place to visit. Old and new buildings to see and plenty of places to go. Resturants of many different cuisines and a nice open area to sit and chill with a coffee. There is a beach, about 7 miles away, (Perranporth) which is lovely and has the traiditional fish and chips, kiss me quick hats etc and you're not too far away from the north side so Newquay etc is all available within 45 to 60 minutes in the car.
Supermarkets are a plenty in and around Truro too. The catherdral is a must to visit. A beautiful building and well worth some time spent.

The capital of Cornwall contains a beautiful cathedral a nice mixture of shops with good choice of restaurants and cafés to suit most .
The park and ride bus service is very useful Takes you from the outskirts to the city centre in approximately 6 minutes. Much of the city is pedestrianised. The imposing granite footpaths are a little rough but built to last . Please try to make some time for yourself and enjoy a tea or coffee in the Cathedral café . There is often various exciting events happening in the cathedral. The Cornwall Hall also has a good mixture of live performances. Lots to do so little time

Truro is a small but busy town boasting an impressive Cathedral and well provided with shops and amenieties. There are good public transport links and is ideally suited to explore the tip of Cornwall. We used a car but other guests used the train network and got to St Michael's Mount and St Ives.
Great location. Lovely hideaway Lodge on the outskirts of Truro. Dog friendly property and area.
Makes a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall. Beaches within short distance in the car.
A very quiet and peaceful location - perfect to unwind and relax. We slept so well due being no noise from outside.
The lodge was cosy and we enjoyed making use of the outside patio and furniture on the sunny days. A traditional cream tea on arrival was a welcome touch from the owners Janet and Luc.
We organised a last minute break 4 night break to Cornwall and chose Chycara because it was within budget, the location was perfect and the accommodation was different to what we’d normally book (a b&b/hotel). We stayed in the Lake Lodge which was, as you’d expect, near the lake. It was clean and tidy and located in beautiful, peaceful grounds. Set just outside of Truro we were within easy reach of the east & west coast.
We had a spacious twin room at the front of the property. Had a fridge which I wasn't expecting so that was a bonus. Beds very comfy and bedding smelt lovely and clean.
Bathroom a bit basic but it was fine.
Tea/Coffee replenished daily.
Thought it was good value considering the area and easy to walk in to Truro. Very near to the Sainsburys that did a good value cooked breakfast.
The house is amazing & situated in the heart of the Cornwall. Easy access to all the attraction points to east, west, north & south. The house made us feel so comfy & homely that my family want to go back again. The kitchen is fully equipped & huge. Toilets were new. Beds were comfy . Already missing it .It’s just 5 mins from Truro town centre.Loved Cornwall, Loved Specious House
What an amazing place. Right on the river, so peaceful. The cottage is clean, cosy and has everything you need.
The owners were lovely and very helpful.
The location is perfect for exploring Cornwall or you can just sit by the river and relax.
The pool here is such a bonus.
We honestly feel very lucky to have found this place. We will be back very soon.
We had absolutely wonderful 3 days at this delightful little B&B. The house is renovated beautifully, room was cozy with a huge bathroom, breakfast was delicious. The area is just lovely, super quiet and close to anywhere you want to go around to explore Cornwall. We saw bunch of bunnies, birds and a fox at the property. Will definitely stay here again!
The guest house itself is charming and very comfortable! The view of Truro from my room was fantastic, and it was nice having a good breakfast provided in the mornings. I felt I had easy walking access to the city and the train station. The owners were considerate and welcoming as well! I had a great experience overall!
The location of the hotel is great, with just a 10 minute walk to the town centre with plenty of restaurants. You can drive to all the good walking spots around the coastal path in under an hour, so it's a great spot as a base for visiting Cornwall.
June and Greg were extremely friedly and perfect hosts. June baked regularly fresh home made cakes. Location in Truro was perfect. Turo is perfectly located to explore Cornwall and offers a good variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.
The cabin has everything you need. Its a good size for two and the little garden is great. The location is great too. A couple of minutes from a lovely pub which does great food and just a short stroll into Truro. We will be staying there again.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel looks very aesthetically pleasing, and location wise Truro is very central for Southern Cornwall making it relatively easy to get to lots of different locations within an hour.
Lovely house and very good confortable spacious room. Owners were extremely friendly and ready to provide information on Cornwall and sites. Ben is a great cook and made us superb breakfasts!
Excellent hosts who were willing to go above and beyond. Clean, modern bedrooms and a very handy location for visiting all of Cornwall. We highly recommend this hotel
The room was basic but clean with a comfy bed. The best part was the staff (downstairs) - they were super nice and helpful when the heated went a bit rogue!
