You could not fault this hotel for location, cleanliness, staff, food, comfort, facilities. The ONLY thing that the hotel didn't have was parking, but as it is so close to the station, and to the town, a car was completely superfluous in order to enjoy Darlington.

I liked the room, the bed, the bathroom and shower, the view over the fields and the quiet! I liked the location since we were travelling north the next day. I liked the easiness with which it was bookable last minute, 2 hours before late arrival. The receptionist was very friendly, it all worked.

Beautiful location, stopped off on the way to Seahouses. We didn't have an evening meal, so we could not comment on that, but we found the most amazing pub/restaurant about a 5-minute walk away called The Fox Hole. The food was the best I've ever tasted. The staff at the hotel were brilliant and nothing too much trouble.
