The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Property was as you would expect for a building dating back so many years. Rooms were lovely and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and cooked perfectly.

Room was fabulous. 4 poster room. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Eggs were a bit rubbery at breakfast but otherwise great. Location is superb, very peaceful considering busy roads nearby.

Peaceful stay. Very comfortable room. Excellent tea/coffee facilities in the room. Very attentive staff, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent. I just wish we had more time to explore and use the leisure facilities!
Will do so the next time we visit. And we will!!

We had a very comfortable stay at the William Cecil. Our room was one of the smaller (but cheaper!) rooms and overlooked the road. However, traffic noise was not noticeable. The room was clean, beds very comfortable, well appointed and full of character. Nice touches were a small bottle of *fresh* milk in the fridge and a couple of very nice chocolate chip cookies in an air tight jar. We had an excellent meal in Milly’s Bistro and a nice afternoon tea with scones, strawberry jam and clotted cream. Staff very friendly and efficient. Excellent location at the southern edge of Stamford near Burleigh House. Stamford is a gem of a town with lots of historic buildings, churches, small shops, etc. It also has a railway station within walking distance of the William Cecil, a big plus if you are travelling by rail.
Situated in the centre of ancient Stamford, The Bull and Swan is a historic 16th-century inn. It features unique, luxury rooms and traditional cuisine made with fresh, local produce.

This is a recently refurbished old hotel which has had no expense spared to bring it up to a very high standard. The ambience is excellent, high level of finishing and comfort. Wansford is a charming old village which is very quiet. The hotel sits next to the River Nene giving a lovely peaceful rural feel. A great place to meet friends and stay.

A beautiful village that has very easy access to all the main routes. The properties in the village have great charm and elegance with not a piece of litter in site. The residents are clearly, and rightly so, very proud of their village. There is a hotel and a very inviting pub/restaurant (both dog friendly) there are also some lovely little shops and a Post Office.

The Haycock Hotel was great with a lovely cafe across the road and pub. It was also handy to have a corner shop to get the paper in the morning. There were lovely walks from the village and not too far to nearby villages with good pubs for a drink or meals. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Everything was really very good, but the whole place is VERY worn. Staff all good, evening meal (Food) very good, just a very unfriendly restaurant atmosphere. Table very plain. No music, TV on but couldn't hear it!
Was no clean path up to the reception. Don't think it had been swept for weeks?
First impression the hotel from the outside looks nice
But the standard of the quality of workmanship on the return is poor
The service is so slow and you can wait at reception for more than 10 mins
Breakfast looks good with no flavour
Our entrance to our room was covered in fly’s and the damp smell is horrid but the staff can’t see the fly’s nor can they smell damp
The hotel has recently been refurbished and both our bedroom and all the communal areas were beautifully decorated.
We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel which were both excellent.
We really liked the hotel, which is conveniently located next to the A1, and will definitely return this year.
The village is pretty as well.
The open plan style in the bar and patio area. The hotel has undergone a complete transformation and modernisation, but the integral building is in tact. The decor was attractive and everything felt very comfortable.
What a great find of a hotel. This location suited our needs as a halfway stop between visiting North/South. A lot of work has gone into this hotel and we will definitely be staying again.
It was all great. The staff were fantastic, the room gorgeous.
The hotel has been lovingly restored to ensure the period elements remain a feature.
It was a lovely relaxing stay
Great hotel, modern, clean and very comfortable. Restaurant food / menu was exceptional, great reception, bar and restaurant & breakfast team - highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is very quant with lots of character. the room was well appointed, comfortable, clean and very bright with glass doors leading onto the patio/garden.
The history of the hotel. The decor following recent refurbishments. The furnishings were to a very high started. We really liked the bar and the breakfast.
