The room was spotlessly clean and airy with good en-suite facilities. A comfortable, sunny outdoor area for pre-dinner drinks was a bonus.
Set within its own picturesque grounds, this award-winning former coaching inn, dating back in parts to 1430, provides traditional accommodation and a luxurious spa in the historic Sussex market town...

The staff were welcoming and helpful and made me laugh. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were comfortable. The garden and terrace were charming.
Its a beautiful house in magnificent grounds. There's a buzz of creative activity about West Dean which is what will entice me back to attend one of their many courses. We ate in the local pub, as we only stayed one night: a very pleasant but not too long a walk away. Look out for the peacock on the roof of a house in the village, he'll certainly make his presence felt. Our room was lovely, the bed extremely comfortable, all our needs anticipated with a hair dryer, iron etc, and the ensuite bathroom very luxurious. I couldn't have wished for more. Take sturdy shoes as the grounds are extensive and worth a look.

Really enjoyed the outdoor pool for daily swim, although changing facilities very basic & rather a trek from the main house.
An evening meal was available, but not taken.
Disappointed in cooked breakfast choice, although cold buffet bits were good.
Comfy room. Helpful staff. Lovely grounds.
Ideal for a quiet escape.
There were 'student activities' happening, but they did not compromise our stay.

THis is a unique and very special place, hard to compare wit anywhere else because it is a beautiful building, run very efficiently but with friendly staff. Breakfast, in a canteen setting, was excellent, the room was fantastic and I loved every minute except for leaving!

We enjoyed the evening meal at The Partridge Inn better than the Selsey Arms.
We were there to visit the Weald and Downland Museum on our 55th Wedding Anniversary on the 29th., so it was very convenient. Had a great day, but very tiring.

A beautiful location, the freedom to walk in the gardens and parkland is a huge bonus. It is peaceful. My room was great - comfortable, clean and warm. The building itself is fabulous. I didn't leave the site. I ate in the restaurant for all my meals and was impressed by the choice and the different dietary options on offer. Pleasant and efficient staff at reception to answer any questions, likewise the catering staff and the housekeeping staff. I look forward to staying again.
Not a hotel, more like a B&B in a stately home. The history, antiques, decor, atmosphere and vibe, if only all hotels/B&Bs were like this. The massive lounge with the huge open fire until gone 10pm each night, you can't build something like that to order. Surrounded by countryside and gardens. I could go on. For a romantic break, you'll find this place hard to beat.
Ground-bean coffee machines in abundance (free to use) and a breakfast well above standard.
If you are looking for a relaxing, peaceful, scenic and beautiful place to stay, the West Dean manor house and extensive and gorgeously landscaped gardens and grounds are the place to go. Just need to have a car. Great full breakfast, but must go out for lunch and dinner. Also enjoyed the heated swimming pool. Beds very comfortable. Be warned though, no AC, no TV. Not generally needed, and windows open. Lots of places to explore (by car) for day trips.
As a retired academic I was immediately comfortable both with the surroundings and the facilities provided. The price compared favourably with local hotels and the staff were very helpful. A most interesting building with some fascinating artefacts set in a beautiful location.
Beautiful building and setting, and very hard to compare with anywhere else. Staff friendly and efficient, wonderful room and the garden were lovely. There is an atmosphere of quiet and calm industry at West Dean which is fantastic.
The location is lovely, so is the pub and the food! My only regret is loitering in Chichester during the day and not heading to West Dean earlier to enjoy it fully. Great size rooms and all very comfortable.
A special place to stay, in the heart of West Dean College. A stunning historical place with modern-day comfort, located in an extraordinary estate setting and breathtaking surroundings.
The location is fantastic and the west dean college building itself is such a beautiful place to stay at. I'd highly recommend this place and will definitely be back in the future
The breakfast was good, a lovely building and friendly accommodating night staff, I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel. I would use them again if needed next time.
The hotel was set in stunning grounds with access to all areas. The gardens were exceptional and well worth walking around. The Colleage was oozing history.
The breakfast was good with all the usual things available. The location and outlook combined with West Dean's renowned gardens were the star of the show.
